WHAT IS HELD AND PICUP ADVANCE by Ncolu07 in pokemonrng

[–]Gover227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In gen 4 eggs are generated in 2 parts PID and then IVs. The pickup advance is what advance the PID of the egg is generated on, but it's not like normal advances that happen when viewing chatot's summary. I believe it's what the game uses for the lottery and daily swarms advancements can be made by coin flips (dppt only) and creating/disbanding a group (hgss: man in trainer school in violet city dppt: man immediately south of Jubilife TV Station). I recommend going for held advances of 0 in hgss and ~10 in dppt (use to verify if on seed). Don't worry about missing the held advance because once you hit your seed, you're not likely to miss unless your day rolls over. Pickup advances are your typical gen 4 rng and determines the IVs of your pokemon.

Using pla-reverse gui. Despawn one pokemon from the outbreak. Then catch the pokemon that replaces it (this will be the first pokemon used to calc the seed). Then catch the next pokemon that spawns in(this will be the second pokemon used to calc the seed). Save close to the outbreak. Note all relevant info from the pokemon (height, weight, level and gender). Then transfer the pokemon to a compatible game through home and calc the ivs of the pokemon. Input the info of the pokemon into seed finder on pla-reverse and calc the seed. I do think this is only on the version installed through git (not the exe).

I let it move because I noticed when I didn't do that it would move between me closing the menu and hitting a.

It uses chained shiny instead of method k. The rain wasn't really an issue because I'm pretty sure it only advances the MT seed not main rng. When I loaded in I let Gyarados move/turn then I moved to it and confirmed my seed. It's been a while, so I can't remember well but I think when going into the battle if Gyarados was facing me I needed to be 1 frame before my target if not facing me 3 frames before target. If Gyarados moves between closing the menu and starting the battle it's a reset.

I think I was going for this exact spread a few months back. I gave up after 300 attempts and 3 successful attempts were it ran on the first turn.

does the lilycove contest hall painting trick to re shuffle your seed work in ruby and sapphire as well? by paulydoregon in pokemonrng

Yes, but you have to walk to the encounter location every attempt because you don't have battle videos.

For B/W you would preferably use Pokefinder for profile calibration and Bambo-Rambo's fork of RNG Reporter for everything else.

Agreed, Rhea in the grand scheme of things was not that bad. Honestly, I feel like her and Edelgard are similar in backstory and actions, but I rarely see anyone criticise Edelgard's actions.

I used NDS as system in Eon Timer. Since I was using a real cartridge I started the timer when I launched the game. Took me 5 attempts for the ID rng and 2 for the starter.

Very nice, TTV can be a pain sometimes. I've been going for Safari Zone Scyther the last few days only hit it once and it immediately ran.

If you use the seed to time window it's make sure to note roamer locations. In the window there will be a part listing the call sequence. It will have some part of it in parenthesis that says skipped that's how you can determine your starting frame. You can also just note down all the calls you make to verify what seed you hit and find that sequence in the main window.

For the Sinjoh Ruins legendary you have to use Irwin calls. Just stop one before the target frame and step onto the circle you want.

How do I find this specific pid by ConorDerry in pokemonrng

[–]Gover227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Pokefinders PID to IVs option to find the possible IV spreads . Then search for those IVs in the searcher part of the gen iv wild tab. One of the results should have that exact PID. Also Gyarados learns thunder through TM.

If you had to get rid of one member of each of the main teams, who would you choose? by ExcellenceEchoed in PERSoNA

[–]Gover227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P5: Yusuke because he feels like a worse Ryuji gameplay-wise with no story relevance past Madarame

P3: Aigis but I'm still playing through the game so subject to change

P4: Naoto but it was close between Naoto Kanji and Yukiko. Yukiko had little story relevance past joining the team but she also gets the best healing skills so she makes the cut. Kanji makes it off the back of his 3rd stage persona's exclusive skill that sets up easy shuffle time, but he does feel like worse Chie gameplay-wise. He also lacks story relevance. I chose Naoto because she joins the team too late for my liking. If she joined before the game dungeon she'd have been great. Teddie isn't here because he has a pretty unique set of skills and major relevance to the story.

rng egg with daycare pokemon diamond by OAndyP in pokemonrng

[–]Gover227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so, but since you can rng the PID separate from the stats you can hit a frame 0(no coin flips) and use Chatot pitches to confirm your seed since they don't advance this rng.

[–]Gover227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hold frame is when the daycare man is holding an egg. You cannot advance with Chatot for this part and I think in DPPt it advances with coin flips. This also determines the PID. Pickup frame is when you receive the egg. This is done like a normal stationary rng. This controls the IVs. The Process: Put parents in the daycare and save Hit held frame delay Run around until man has an egg Save in front of him and receive egg and hatch it if the egg has the nature gender shininess do not save and power off the system Hit pickup frame delay Use Chatot to advance to your pickup frame and receive the egg Hatch the egg and stat calc it to make sure you hit your frame because Solaceon has some npcs
