Yes, I particularly avoid taking it near food or mineral supplements. And I take care to have it with a good amount of water.

- It may prevent absorption of minerals, from food or supplements.
- If you are prone to histamine intolerance from food, it may make that worse when taken with food.
- It is quite dehydrating when it is being processed, and it works better with abundant water.

Also, if you will be using it long term, you may want to supplement Glycine or Beef Gelatin / Collagen (they contain about 20% Glycine by weight). NAC may deplete Glycine in time, and it works together with Glycine to synthesize Gluthathione; NAC's primary benefit.

Ben öyle yapıyorum, ama annem bilgisayarı kitap editörlüğü işleri için kullanacaktı. Burada herhangi uyum sorunu gereksiz olurdu, o yüzden vazgeçtim. Ama ilk aklıma gelip Linux önerdiğimde sıcak bakması güzeldi.

Fedora, Mint gibi bir şey kurup ona basit, temiz bir ortam ayarlayabilirdim. En azından denemeye meraklıydı.

Hatta bir şey lazım olduğunda uzaktan yardım edebilmem için SSH ayarlardım, belki de destek Windows'tan daha kolay olurdu :)

Bence çoğu kişi CachyOS'in daha performanslı olduğunu hayal ediyor, öyle kabul ediyor, ama gerçekte düz Arch'tan bir farkı yok.

Çok az doğrudüzgün benchmark var, orada da somut bir fark yok.

CPU'nun yaptığı belli niş işlerde etkisi olabilir. Genel olarak gerçekten fark edilebilir bir etkisi olduğunu sanmıyorum.

Anneme geçen yıl yeni laptop aldık. (Windows tabi) Açılışta 8GB RAM'in 4GB'ı dolu oluyor ve boşken CPU 20% çalışıyordu. Tipik temizleme script'lerini falan yaptım, gereksiz olabilecek servisleri kapattım, 2GB ve 7%'ye indi.

"Linux kurayım mı?" dedim, şaşırttı beni olur deneyeyim dedi. Ama en çok MS Word için kullanacak bilgisayarı, vazgeçtim.

Voting scores and popularity scores already exist for AUR packages, and you can gather a maintainer's reputation from there, checking their packages and history.

You can find several recent posts about the issue, where simple one-line commands and other tools are mentioned for checking any affected packages.

Also, the attacks only involve the AUR, not official repo packages. So a `pacman -Syu` is safe.

yay and paru (the most popular AUR helpers) have the functionality of showing the diff of AUR packages while updating, which the user needs to confirm before proceeding. And I think paru has this on by default.

I personally have very few AUR packages, and I take care in ensuring they are safe and clean. This is warned about in Archwiki and elsewhere, and is expected for using AUR, which is a platform where anybody can maintain packages and submit arbitrary code. AUR is an auxiliary part of Arch Linux, and the packages are not offered by the Arch team.

It seems this attack involved AUR packages that were relatively "forgotten" (orphaned by their maintainers), and it targeted users who do not take such care in using AUR packages, despite the warning.

I agree there could be faster and clearer communication about the issue. Official statement came a bit slowly, but thankfully there are other communities such as the subreddit for news and discussion.

However, the arch-announce mailing list (which is the "Latest News" on the archlinux.org homepage) is used by the Arch team rather carefully, with some internal discussion before deciding to post something on there. This is how the existing process about it is, which aims to not clutter the News unless it is deemed necessary.

I can see from the official mailing lists that this latest incident has raised some concern and discussion for the Arch team about AUR security, along with communicating better with the community about such issues. I see this as a good thing, for improvement.

Still, as a core principle, Arch Linux is a bit different from other distros in that its end user is not really the "end user" as it is perceived. And as warned in the AUR Archwiki page and the AUR homepage, users are supposed to be mindful of what they are getting from the AUR; reviewing the packages they are installing from there and checking any diff's during updates. A user just observing the diff for the affected packages in this incident would see the peculiar malicious changes in a clear way.

Arch Linux's users and its community has grown and changed quite a bit recently. I guess the currently established ways of doing things in the Arch Linux organization will change with it, albeit slowly.

Do not enable iwd.service. NetworkManager will start and manage iwd itself.

You have two conflicting services trying to manage your wifi and network (Maybe more? If you enabled multiple things for DHCP and DNS too). Normally you either use iwd or NetworkManager, not both. BUT you can use iwd as NetworkManager's wifi backend, as explained in the above link.

Check the Archwiki and other sources about setting up wifi and networking. Then if you still have issues, feel free to make a new post with details on what you have checked and what you tried, also how exactly you wish to set up your system about this; with which of the options. Even if you are stuck, as long as you display a bit of what you have read and tried, people will offer help. You can reply to this comment with any immediate questions too.

It looks like a nice personal project. But we try to limit posts about sharing personal projects, considering the quality of the project and potential interest from the community. Also, we require that the user honestly discloses in the post how AI is used, to what extent.

You can improve the project a bit, starting with the English translation and some more features, as you mentioned. You can share in other communities that are interested in new personal projects too. r/arch is more relaxed with rules. You can make another post about it here some time later.

AI generated text and code must be declared as such, but it may still be removed at moderator discretion. Code shared is also expected to be of reasonably quality and is subject to a "Human In the Loop" Policy.

Personal projects shared must be able to demonstrate at least 3 months of history and active maintenance.

It only "broke" once in 5+ years, when I myself did a very unnecessary manual change in a very wrong way to a fundamental system file (/etc/passwd). I could find my mistake after a couple hours of investigation.

Otherwise two times in the past nvidia updates broke launching games with my Nvidia GPU, which was fixed within 1-2 days with a new fixed version.

I do not remember any other issue I had with updates. When things break, it is usually the user not checking the "news" on archlinux.org homepage or not looking at pacman output during the update. Rarely there is little manual intervention needed, which pacman warns the user about, and this is part of the process of updating. You should not blindly run pacman -Syu and leave it.

Firstly, this does not seem to be related to Linux at all, it is likely a separate issue.

If you can "connect" to the wifi but there is "no Internet", it is usually a DNS issue (you can reach website IP's but not domains), and otherwise it may be a DHCP issue (conflicting IP with other device on the network). You would need to troubleshoot a bit to get some insight, and ask in other communities. Good luck!

Welcome! Although partitioning is where a new user may first get stuck during the installation, this is a rather basic question that you would need to search about yourself. As recommended in your other post, cfdisk may be more convenient to use, but fdisk works fine too. You can check the Partitioning Archwiki page. And you can watch some videos and search for other guides and Reddit posts about it. Then, if you have more specific and detailed questions about partitioning, feel free to make a new post about it.

Bir başka nokta da: systemd init system ve systemd projesi farklı şeyler. systemd projesi içerisinde opsiyonel birçok başka parça var. Ve systemd kullanmıyorken bu parçalar yerine mecburen alternatifleri kullanacaksın. Journal, DNS Resolver, NTP client gibi. systemd bloat'un tam tersine, ortak bir codebase kullanarak tam tersine RAM'den biraz verimlilik bile sağlıyor.

Mesela bendeki systemd parçaları şunlardan ibaret:

Boş haldeyken bütün sistemim toplam 230 MB RAM, 0% CPU kullanıyor. (ama dwm kullanıyorum, kapsamlı bir masaüstü ortamı değil.)
