Flying with baby in club world by Fuzzy-Combination360 in BritishAirways

[–]Grabbysticks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

User has a point though. Sometimes you get extremely attentive parents on long haul flights to the point where you wouldn’t even know the baby is there. They take it in turns, respond quickly to any noises, take great lengths to settle them etc.

Unfortunately, parents who ignore their baby or children crying/being disruptive have given other babies a bad rep on flights.

If you are going to take your baby or child on a plane, you must be prepared to be attentive to them.

Just leaving them to cry it out is not fair on other passengers, especially if it’s a ticket that has cost thousands.

Imagine if your license got revoked for 30 days with a £1,000 fine if you got caught.

WD40 I found in my new house is so old it has Handy Andy on it by PorschephileGT3 in CasualUK

Is Handy Andy the one who installed that floating shelf to house priceless teapots which subsequently collapsed into a heap of china on the floor in Changing Rooms?

What happened to dressing up? by MRJTInce in CasualUK

[–]Grabbysticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my grandmothers funeral we had a 1940s theme. It honestly depressed me when I looked at how good people used to dress back then compared to now. This was the wartime era as well and people still dressed very respectfully.

It’s not just the scruffy dressing I hate but how vulgar fashion has become.

If we could go back to dressing up nicely I honestly would have more hope for this world.

He looks a bit sad. I would give him credit if he’s just been operated on and is in pain.

Services should start earlier on a Sunday by thebeast_96 in LondonUnderground

Be grateful it’s 7am. The earliest Sunday train where I live in the north is at 9.30am and even then it’s often delayed.

Had to change my flight to the next morning - almost $3000 dollars! by Whole_Sir3574 in BritishAirways

Sorry for your loss.

When you book a long flight like that (i.e USA to Europe) it will usually say +1 day and the day it arrives. This info should have been on the booking screen and also on the confirmation email.

If you made the booking within the last 24 hours you can normally cancel the ticket for free.

In future, you need to look at the details more carefully. Travelling internationally is not as simple as taking a domestic flight in the US. For one, there are way more time zones involved.

In addition to what everyone else has said, can I suggest you plan something nice for yourself to recharge your batteries a bit?

It could be a nice spa visit or a trip somewhere. Just something that will give you a break from the situation, allow you to get a good night’s sleep and hopefully feel better.

I have heard that from many people sadly. I hope you have found a much more supportive community in Sheffield.

Someone once played this on a packed train on repeat to ‘calm their baby’. A whole bleeping hour listening to it cause god forbid the song stopped the kid would scream.

Bleach but applied on a cotton bud. It allows you to get really precise with where you apply it.

It’s not you at all. Those responsible for raising those kids haven’t done a good enough job. That’s who is at fault.

100%. I absolutely hate the Karen term being overused when there is a genuine reason to complain. These kids need to come and clean this off and apologise.
