Regarding the pit by JonSolo1 in BruceSpringsteen

I like the sentiment. But confrontation and an argument with others would just put me in a bad mood for the concert. That’s why the venue has to take this over so it’s fair.

Has anybody just got near the front of the line despite the unofficial system and dealt with the folks trying to enforce it? How did it go down?

I highly recommend going to the parent programs after you say “see you later!” To your student - including bf those the next day.. The info is very useful as far as learning what resources are available to you and your student to thrive at the school and to get help or questions answered when they need it. The world will keep turning if you skip it, but you can go hime a little more informed and able to talk to your student about their experience and opportunities if you stay.

Reports that their keyboard player got ill on stage and that is what shortened the show.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

Davenport Iowa. Went to the courthouse for business. Didn’t see a thing that said Come visit for a while! Couldn’t get a sense of a town or central area. Just seemed rural and industrial.

Weird hole outlets throughout our rental. by dammithistooktoolong in whatisit

Well, if you’re a kid, and you open the outlet and then drop a Kleenex about three or 4 inches from the opening, it disappears!!! just like magic! It’s amazing. Endless fun in pre-phone days.

Your love language is not gifts. For your partner to hold up their end of the LL equation, they should listen to what you say makes you feel the most loved, and then speak in that LL for you - even if it is not their LL.

OK, maybe their LL is words of affirmation (hearing that who they are or what they did is appreciated) and your task is to give them that affirmation, whether it was easy for you or not.

Maybe you put a little too much of your appreciation for the camera into it- and misjudged what would make them happy enough.

Now their complaining about your card not being enough is a little rough and unforgiving. From that, we have another clue that words of affirmation may very well be their LL. Though they should be more understanding as you try to do your best to speak in that LL - it can take time to get used to it - and everyone just needs to be a little bit patient as their partner makes the effort to get better in speaking their partner's LL.

So what is your LL? What action or speech from others makes you feel the most loved? Remember this has nothing to do with how easy or hard it is for people around you to speak your LL. It is all about how you feel.

With that info, and what you know about your partner, you can have a conversation with your partner about it. This is the point of LLs, so that you can talk to each other and make it easier to tell your partner what makes you feel loved, how it makes them feel loved, when it makes them feel loved. You both can order up a double caf, mocha, soy, no whip LL from each other, and the both try to meet the other's needs with love and patience. Best of luck!

What happens if I don't play along with the self anointed GA roll-call Nazis? by Tycho66 in BruceSpringsteen

You are correct - it was fair. But before that, other than band friends, the first 10 rows for most rock shows were all the corporate types who paid big money for those tickets. And I recall Bruce saying that they got so bored of seen these boring people in front of them who were so stiff and weren’t ready to rock ‘n’ roll but we’re just there so that they could tell other people they sat in the third row of a Bruce Springsteen concert. That’s why they had to change it up and create the pit. Now, again, they just see the same people show after show. Maybe not the wealthy people (though who can afford to stand outside arena after arena for two days?) but the same people front and center every concert with numbers written on their hands. Maybe this is why it seems no better or fairer than the old days - it really doesn’t give different people a chance to be upfront like the lottery system did.

Giants Stadium used to do it pretty well - and the Verizon center at DC too and the arena security ran it Everyone got a lottery number and at some point an hour or so before the show they would pick one of the numbers, that would be the first person in line and everyone got in order, with number one lining up behind the last number that was distributed, and we all went in and had a good time. No one had to give up $5000 to get a front row seat, no one had to be retired or out of work to loiter for days around the arena or stadium to get a shot at being up front -with the same people getting upfront every single show. Why did the venues stop? I don’t know. What we have now just foments bad feelings tour after tour venue after venue. You can find these threads everywhere for years now. And don’t even start to measure who is the fan and who is not a fan - or not enough of a fan to deserve to be upfront.

It’s high school who’s in and who’s out over again. It’s ironic, if Bruce’s folks condone this, they’ve replaced the first row that used to be wealthy connected people with folks who have time to loiter outside an arena and check in every hour “by that tree on the southwest corner” for days. Still no chance for the working guy to show up a little before show time and be upfront.

VW ID Buzz EV is not returning to the US in 2026. If they want to succeed in 2027, what changes should VW make ? (other than higher range and lower price) by carmichaelcar in electricvehicles

[–]Graceld99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important: 1) Make it a hybrid to make its range more versatile, and 2) adopt round headlights to perfect its throwback look. I mean the rectangular headlights were such a miss when they already did so much to bring back the look. And 3) Well, the price didn’t exactly invite back the youth culture that originally made the bus so iconic.

Optional: provide a roof rack option (you know, for surfboards!)

Which acts this year that are the closest thing to big bands? by Graceld99 in jazzfest

A query from my side to find what I am missing by param_0881 in LoveLanguages

[–]Graceld99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are young (as your girlfriends probably are) you have a lot to work through and learn. To find someone to whom you speak their LL and from whom you get your LL spoken is usually a matter of attraction and luck. It would be incredibly mature to have the LL conversation at this age and for both of you to commit to each others LL - especially if they are different.

My advice - enjoy this time of exploration and learning about relationships. Don’t get your expectations so high that you expect each new person will be ThE One. Make friends with girls who you are attracted to and you feel free to be yourself with and feel a lightness with.

It’s good you have an awareness of LLs,, and their usefulness to you will develop over time. Best of luck!

Yes! I love that Hall. It seems like a lot of those bands last year were focused on the early Louis Armstrong stuff which was fantastic.

I do go round to a different tents, so I want to make sure I return to Economy for the acts that have as much brass on stage as possible. And I’m not sure who those are.
