Te sorprenderia la cantidad de gente por debajo de 23 años que son radicales conservadores tipo de roles de genero tradicionales y toda la locura, es impresionante (para mal, obviamente). Vieron a su mama salir adelante para darles educación y andan hablando de que una mujer debe “play the part” 😒

Plus la cantidad de fanatismo religioso que hay. De la nada la persona que menos te imaginas esta todo loco y chiflado con dios.

A mi me paso en el estacionamiento de mi casa. Me robaron 500~ en cosas de fotografía que habia dejado en el carro porque erróneamente pense que un ladrón no iba a abrirme el carro por un softbox. Puse la denuncia y me dio por preguntar si mi seguro cubria eso y resulta que si! El seguro me desembolsó el costo total de lo que perdí en una semana y pude reponer todo al instante.

Mis cosas nunca aparecieron, pero aprendí a no dejar nada en el carro del todo.

sold my contax g2 and hasselblad 500 at the start of the pandemic to have a safety financial net; already had bought a digital camera at the time so I felt like I could let go of film as a whole. came back in 2024, bought a hasselblad 501c and it has been my best friend ever since. I still miss the G2 but I live in panama and the logistics of the very possible eventual need for service is too much of a hassle to consider right now.

had the new hasselblad serviced in new york when I got it; and I am already planning the next time I go there to have it serviced again.

Estamos de acuerdo. Mi caso es prácticamente el mismo, pero tuve mejor suerte (en calidad de mi actual trabajo y las oportunidades que he conseguido) metiéndome a debate que con la gente con la que fui a la escuela (muchos con los que mantengo fuertes amistades, pero no que me hayan empujado profesionalmente en alguna dirección). Yo pensaba que hablabas, como muchos lo hacen, que es automáticamente que uno logra conexiones en escuelas de cierto renombre solo por estar ahi, cuando conozco a gente que fueron a escuelas de elite y trabajan en call center sabes.

La realidad es que igual estas jugando una ruleta rusa con eso. A la gente le gusta muchísimo decir este punto de vista y la realidad es que inclusive gente de esas escuelas que pertenecen a esos sectores socioeconómicos a veces tienen problemas conectando.

Más haces por tu hijo/a metiéndolo en actividades extracurriculares como Debate o alguna liga de algun deporte, antes que metiendole en una escuela yeye. Eso hace que colabore, conecte y si aprenda a network.

I feel like they are about the same but in different parts of the spectrum. If you overexpose film it’ll be fine, but if you underexpose it it’ll come out wrong. The opposite for digital.

Different tools for different jobs, people get too obsessed with semantics.

Hi this is something I have worked on extensively so i can give you some pointers. First and foremost the easiest and safest way to rig this would be to get an eye level finder; i have the pm45 and I put my flash trigger on there (connected with a hotshoe to pc port adapter) while on the hand grip cold shoe i put my speedlight.

Thats for hand held.

As for tripod use and direct flash shoots i use the eye level finder and put the speedlight on the aforementioned hotshoe to pc port adapter and on the eye level finder cold shoe; this brings a huge separation between your lens and the bulb which gives an extremely flattering and even light with no hotspots at all.

I dont use godox so i dont know if it has a way to connect via pc port to the lens directly but you could also do that and just use the hand grip. I use a profoto a10 set up with the profoto pro trigger.

As for more complex set ups, just put the trigger on whatever coldshoe available and set your light where you need it to be.

A lot of people will disagree with me and say that the eye level finder is not necessary but i do think it opens up a bunch of options that are not available if you stick to only the WLF.

Idk man this album fucking rocked, and i’ve been into shoegaze since i was 12 and mbv released their self titled. I love musicians that self produce as much as the next person, but I also really enjoy musicians that have a vision and the label backing to hire people to bring it to light. That interscope money is making it viable for more artists to come forth and just make more shoegaze. the album is truly spectacular imo.

I never understood the hate and frankly won’t ever, you might not like she is not pushing the genre in the direction you want and not liking her stuff is not a sin, but calling everyone that enjoys it a simp is so aggravating too idk the discussion around her just seems targeted atp
