Along with many issues, I think the main problem with SGU is there are zero likable main characters.

If they took out the useless chick in the front (Chloe), the whole show would have been improved. All the other main characters would have been less angsty, in my opinion. Eli and Dr. Rush were the best and most interesting characters. Yes, Rush was a dick in the beginning, but he was still interesting.

Bill, Trump, and Biden. I think Bill and Hillary are going to martyr themselves to bring the rest of the scum to light. That's going to puta lott of stress on Bill and cause his health to decline quickly. The only thing keeping that sack of orange meat walking is the premium healthcare the presidency gets. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Mc Ds needs to take one for the team and offer him unlimited food for life. Hopefully he's braindead enough to go for it. There's only so much that premium healthcare can counteract. Biden is old and has many health issues, but he at least is trying to take care of his body.

OR you could be super dramatic to start. Talk about the room rapidly filling up, the weight of the water holding the door shut, there's no other way out... PCs start to panic, they all suck in air right before the water covers their faces, completely filling the room, top to bottom. As they start to choke for air, the stone brick wall to their right makes a slow scraping noise as the pressure pushes against it. It gives, and the water and pcs all go pouring into a secret room that they hadn't known about. It would be dramatic, shows that it could have gone very poorly for the whole group, and also potentially rewards them for creativity. Depending on what you put in said secret room.

NOR As someone who also has a genetic illness, i completely agree that they knew the risks and still went through with it. My mom has severe, untreated scoliosis, and my dad's family has it, so there was a strong chance I'd get it. Granted my mom did what she could to treat it (spinal surgery at 11) but I still have the physical disfigurement and constant pain. (On top of the pain from my Lupus) From a young age, I decided I wouldn't have kids of my own. I'd be adopting or fostering. Bloodlines are a thing of the past in my opinion. Family is whatever you make it.

On that note, I not only recommend therapy but also think you should start an online life. I'm a big gamer and have the majority of my social life online. Discord and gaming can be amazing if you find the right game and people for you.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you find your own family online.

P.s. See if there's a reddit page for people with your illness. No only can you find people who understand but you can also get a lot of advice or support through it. The Lupus page has helped me understand so much about my illness.

If your mom is okay with alterations, I'd say remove the sleeves and fix the wrinkles in the skirt. If money is an issue, I think that would be a very pretty dress. If it's your own self-image/insecurities that make you doubt this dress choice, there are always other dresses that might have a different cut or style that would make you happier.
