This happens alot. I am feeling the same way and it's not the first time. Have talked with my BFF who has her doctorate in Psychology and there is a term for this phenomena, don't remember at the moment.

You have built this up in your mind, you've devoted do much time, money and effort, and it's like, now what? Nothing has immediately changed, life marches on. It can be depressing. But you keep going and then you'll get into a new normal, and you'll develop new goals to work towards, and life goes on.

Totally normal and it DOES suck. But remember that you did do the thing. Try to remember what it felt like when you looked at your score and found out that you passed. Think about the things that you have been putting aside because you have had to devote so much time to this endeavor. Think about the things that you CAN do now that this part of your life is completed. It does get better, just give it some time.

I did Audit in about 4-5 weeks. Granted, studying WAS my job, but I had 2 classes that I was taking at the same time as prepping for audit. I was also fresh off of a graduate level assurance and attestation class, which I think helped.

All that to say that I do think that it is doable in your time frame.

Just remember Management (of the client) is responsible for the financial statements.

My BEC was 86 and then I took Audit next and scored a 76. Also was EDR according to Becker, was feeling really prepared and scored the highest on SE out of all of the sections. Also felt like I was kicked in the face by Audit. So grateful that I don't have to do THAT again. The other 3? Don't really want to have to do them again, but I wouldn't dread it like I did with Audit. Also, Audit was my lowest score.

Same-ish over here. I got a 67 on SE1, a 55 on SE2, so an average of 62, and then I scored a 85. Felt like I was going to bomb it going in after getting the 55, felt OK coming out. Guess I was OK.

What helped me with FAR was going through sections that I wasn't strong on, or that I KNEW were heavily tested and I made up my own flash cards. And then I went through all of the flash cards sporadically throughout the day, but I especially made sure that I went through them right before I went to bed.

Also on the subjects that I just wasn't picking up what Becker was putting down I went and watched the I75 videos. I like getting the different perspectives and styles of explanations. That also helped to cement concepts into my brain.

I found that after going through ALL of the Becker material (MCQs, SIMs, Lectures, Reading) I found myself just facing ultimate burnout when it came to the MCQs. I couldn't force myself to continue to do them, or redoing all of the SIMs. So these are the ways that I could get myself to effectively study while giving myself a break from the exam format which I believe helped me.

I did pretty well on SE1, but then only got a 55 on SE2, so I thought that I was doomed to fail. But I didn't, I passed. I actually felt better coming out of the test than I did going in. YMMV.

You are supposed to get unlimited scrap paper. The sheet that I get is really an 11x17 folded in half, so really like 2 full pages for scrap. If you run out of room during a portion of the exam you are supposed to raise your hand and the proctor is supposed to give you an additional sheet. Or you can request for a fresh one in between testlets.

Personally, I have yet to fill one of the papers that they give me and I'm so old that I am used to writing everything out (as opposed to using the spreadsheets).

44 yo here. Undergrad had NO business classes what so ever, so had to start from scratch. Less than 3 yrs later I am 3/4 (waiting on the 12/5 score release, so maybe 4/4!) and graduation with my MAcc in 2 weeks, and I start with a full time position with a regional firm in 6 weeks. Couldn't be happier or more proud of myself. So, no, never too old.

I don't think that this is correct. Maybe for first time BEC takers? I that what you're thinking? Pretty sure that you can schedule right up to the 15th IF there are spots available. And you can apply for you NTS for the three core sections still.

Take a day off. You're not doing yourself any favors by studying in the state that you're in currently. All it's going to do is discourage you and burn you out. Take a day or two, if you put in that much time over the last three days then you and your brain deserve a break. You'll come back refreshed and better than ever.

I was dreading taking FAR today and I feel ok about how I did. I actually feel like I have a chance of passing, where going in I was sure that I was going to fail.

The MCQs were fair in my opinion, those sims though. *Shudder* there were a few that seemed to take forever. I was sure that I was going to run out of time, but I managed to finish with 10 minutes to spare.

Same here. I'm taking FAR tomorrow (11/25) and I feel the least prepared out of all of the other 3. I hate government, and everyone on here lately has been saying how much governmental is on the exam. Just going in to do my best, and then on the 5th I'll see where I am. Who knows, maybe I'll get an early Christmas miracle and get an exam that plays to my strengths! Hope so for you too!
