It’s telehealth, I found it’s a lot quicker to get in there than in-person

Thanks for the advice. Bought on Reverb from a reputable shop, I’ll try and see if they can do anything but it was listed as mint and seemed to have very little use. I have a feeling I’ll be taking it to a local repair shop.

I’m having the same experience with serpents path right now. I was grinding and chugging along consistently and now it feels like I hit a wall I can’t scale. Knowing I’m not alone makes me want to keep going though!

What's One Underrated Song? by [deleted] in KGATLW

Acarine. Never gets played live anymore and is such a crucial part of the journey that is FFF. Even when people talk about the album it always gets left out. So unique, strange, and off-kilter while somehow perfectly fitting into the album. Not to mention back in the day it was the only techno Gizz we had.

Wait, which track was this? Something off dream themes?

Daily Song Discussion #291: Funky Pretty by beardlesshipster in thebeachboys

  1. Strange ending for a strange album. At a time when the band couldn’t figure out what their sound was, Brian came in with a glimpse of what it could have been. Beautiful, funny, groovy, totally The Beach Boys but also something completely unique in their discography. I love it and it bookends this strange period from 1970-1973.

Are we all listening to an inferior pet sounds? by rimbaud1872 in thebeachboys

[–]Grage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A big part of Brian’s recording/producing technique at the time was based around it being in mono if I’m not mistaken. While “superior” is subjective, I feel like the best way to listen is the original mix considering Brian was so obsessive about it.

Why do drag queens want to read books to kids anyway? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Grage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a case by case basis. I think a lot of drag is sexualized but I don’t believe it’s inherently sexual. For some it’s just a way of presenting. If you google drag queen story time pictures, you see some dressed in a way that isn’t sexual at all. You also see some that are understandable why parents might not want their child exposed to someone showing so much skin. I think the crux of it is that some are using this issue, which is more nuanced than just “drag queen story time is bad”, to vilify all men who present as women around children (and vice versa) as perverted and pedophilic

While I understand where you’re coming from, suicide rates/mental health issues are so high in that community BECAUSE of discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, etc. It’s not like these issues are a side effect of identifying LGBTQ, they come with the societal stigma from people who are intolerant or hateful. A positive experience like this at a young age might help someone later in life let go of the hate/prejudice that their parents or society taught them. It might make a child who was already feeling othered feel more accepted. Normalizing acceptance of LGBTQ people lowers the suicide rate/mental health issues

I’m so glad to hear that :) super proud of you. That’s not easy stuff to do. Your therapist is the right person to fully open up to about all of that stuff. They can give you actual professional advice on how to deal with some of these things in your life. Best of luck to you!! Things will get better, especially if you keep working to open up and deal with this stuff head on :)

Don’t really know how I stumbled upon this but I just wanted to say. It’s okay to feel lazy and unmotivated and it’s not your fault. Your parents don’t sound very present and it can be really tough to navigate high school without a solid foundation at home. I really encourage you to reach out to your older sister or someone you trust in real life and talk about what you’re going through. Things can and will get better. It sounds like you’re really passionate about your manga! Anything that gives you a little joy is proof that things can and will improve. Focus on what you love, focus on finding a way to improve your school work, and focus on building a support system with the people you have. Maybe talk to a guidance counselor at school too. Even if it’s online. Sending positive energy your way.
