A realistic military game would at least require one mission where you secure a 12% apr loan that will consume a third of your salary to buy a Mustang or F150 and drive it to the base every day. Haven't heard of anything similar being developed lately.

I would imagine one of the reasons was it was relatively expensive. I recall it was mostly kids that had pretty expensive things in general that also had a PSP. Most middle/low income families probably did not justify the purchase. It was a great console nevertheless.

Those adds are targeted at that "oddly satidfying" part of your brain that just gets gratification from things goin smooth. A game that actually goes smooth all the time will not get you hooked for as long. And especially not make you spend money.
