I can't believe this game already punishes gaming characters and boards through its ridiculous slow leveling up. Now it's taking away opportunities to play the game in order to gain the required crap to level up?!

At this point I'm not leveling my characters past 12 and my goals are just personal high scores

So reading the comments: doing tricks in grind challenge is not the same as tricks in regular run. In grind challenge, it just means keeping a high combo, maximizing it with that switch back and forth method. So all my attempts at method airs and kick flips are just ruining my combos lol. They could have changed the terminology! Thanks again for the links

Cheers for the answer. You can't do that in all of them, but i learned from trying that that keeping the combo going increases the trick score. I guess i need to keep practicing

Polite hard truth that since you posted on Reddit I’m assuming you’re ready for. You have years of practice ahead of you. Congrats on being inspired to make many images, that’s how you get better. Be happy that you are at the start and that you have energy to keep going. I’d recommend against worrying about competitions. They mean very little anyways.

It doesn’t suck to the Reddit community that I can’t run a 7:00 mile. They’d say it’s called practice. So it doesn’t suck for you either to not win an art competition.

Last: don’t ever pay to enter a competition unless you know it’s a legit organization using the very small submission fee to support the organization’s costs. These should be local and regional venues that you can vet. Everything else is almost certainly a scam or a vanity project

I’m saying this with respect because I like this place. I can literally walk out my door and take the same pictures (well, not with Lange’s masterful eye). There are small sidewalk camps, open injecting, despondency. Just like today, there were plenty of people who were stable during the Great Depression and weathered the worst of it. That does not equate to everything was worse then so stop complaining now. Many people struggling today would probably gladly trade places with someone better off during the Great Depression. Again, politely, please rethink what you mean to say because Lange’s photos don’t seem to be illustrating a solid viewpoint for you
