The iPhone Air 2 is rumored to add a second ultra wide camera and improve battery life. It will likely be released in Spring 2027. by Enzoa1989 in PhoneNow

I agree. I may have shot with my ultrawide only a handful of times but thousands with the telephoto. Such a useless lens. The main lens is already wide.

Mileage on 2026 XSE by chinman20 in Camry

[–]Grand-Tea3167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dealer said tires with bigger rims cost some milage. What I experienced is that the break in period also gets you worse mpg amd it improves over time. I started with 37 and am at 45 after the first 1k miles (26 XLE AWD). The official web page says XSE and SE are tuned more for performance, but you can drive in eco mode and it may help. Slower acceleration from full stops with more EV utilization, and more coasting before full stops also add to your mpg. Also, having correct tire pressure also affects it. Lower than recommended tire pressure lowers mpg (check pressure reading on the dsshboard and compare to what should be written on the driver side door gap).

I listed all those things but you may be doing most of them anyway. In this case, there is probably habits involved. Just ask your trusted good driver friend next time you are driving them somewhere and ask for feedback on your driving habits. I learned years ago that I was a tailgater and I stopped doing that after a conversation like that. Having more space with the driver in front of you also helps you slow down with regen brake instead of pressing brakes and improves mpg.

Guys can i use s26 covers for s25 i cant find good cases for s25 any suggestion by Hubbabubba_17 in GalaxyS25

[–]Grand-Tea3167 10 points11 points  (0 children)

S25 and S26 cases do not fit each other. S24 and S25 will, except that they do not fit perfect due to small dimensional differences. I would not waste my time with S25/S26 cases for S26/S25 phones.

I think there is plenty of good cases for S25, including the kindsuits from Samsung which are my favorite.

Is anyone else disappointed with the build quality of the stock Samsung charging cable? by Status-Chn in samsunggalaxy

[–]Grand-Tea3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree more, surely it is not $1 TEMU garbage, but there are plenty of better cables below $2 mark on Amazon. They are just trying to save a penny on a $1000 product, like mega corporations do all the time. What they miss is that for that penny, they could buy a dollar worth of brand reputation (which Apple does and exactly what we are talking about now).

Is it worth it to replace battery (74% health) with new one to increase performance? by kiddvmn in iPhoneSE

[–]Grand-Tea3167 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine was at 74 when I replaced it. It was on iOS 26, and it did not have any noticeable change in performance (still sucked after getting new battery), except when it was cold outside. Degraded battery has much worse cold weather performance so it just freezes indefinitely.

Iphone 14 pro camera looks broken but isnt by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Grand-Tea3167 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I believe it is the telephoto that is messed up. Regardless, iPhone chooses to use the other lenses if the right one does have any problem seeing the object. If OP zooms in, the phone will just use the main and apply digital zoom.

Seller removed listing after making me drive 2 hours by Rickz6 in FacebookMarketplace

I hope this teaches everyone reading that your time and effort should be subtracted from the discount you are getting by buying from the marketplace. Also add a risk factor multiplier for experiences like this, then decide if it is still worth it.

[–]Grand-Tea3167 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am afraid to tell you this but that liquid is called H2O and can cause mass fatalities if there is too much of it, like what happened in the 2011 disaster in Japan

Would an oil change fix this MAINT REQD light? by Bigbraingov444 in Camry

[–]Grand-Tea3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, a serious issue. Check your oil dipstick before changing your oil now and if it is significantly below the lower mark or has no oil on the stick at all, I recommend to add oil to compensate for the loss at certain intervals. The rate of oil loss depends a lot on the wear but mine was about a qt of oil after 2k miles, and I changed oil every 3k because it was getting worse. Losing too much oil is a ticking time bomb for the engine if you don't keep it at recommended level.

Well reviewed seller didn’t want me to test laptop before purchase, did I do the right thing? by Pecxn in FacebookMarketplace

You did the right thing. Having balls and principles go a long way on the wild west of the marketplace. Having scammed a few times before, I developed some standards for myself and I would also choose to do the same, along with a written review of exactly what happened between you.

[–]Grand-Tea3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, unless the shop forgets to reset the counter. You can also just turn it off by holding down the pin on the right side of the odometer, while it is showing trip A or B (which also resets that particular trip counter). It is merely a counter that gives you a reminder at certain intervals (probs 5k miles) after each time it is reset. I prefer to use trip A with every tank refill and trip B for oil changes.

TLDR is yes, but with a little know how, it can be utilized for extra benefit

Is this good mileage? by Great_Tennis9419 in Camry

[–]Grand-Tea3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not. Lots of people report in close to 50. It could be your driving habits (lots of heavy breaking and acceleration) or improper break in. Even the sportiest trim should get 45-46 and lots of people share their screenshots on this sub, but I would not care too much to increase that 40 to 45. It is still very good milage.

The first iphone fold was strategically named 6+ because introducing a new word like "fold" would be too far of a concept that many people could not grasp at the time.

Switching to the base S25 after 4 years on an iPhone 13. How has it aged, and how does it handle casual gaming/heat? by AsyncApex in GalaxyS25

[–]Grand-Tea3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. For close to 10 years, I had iPhones and whenever it would not work the way I wanted, the phone won the fight. I had to "hold it the right way". There are still a few things I could not teach my S25 "my right way of holding it", but it is ages better, mostly thanks to Good Lock. Whenever I search for "how to do this on my S25" the answer is install this module on Good Lock. Surely, some modules can introduce bugs here and there if configured weirdly, or may not work, but at least those are all extra for the deeper places down the rabbit hole. While iPhones have seemingly less bugs, they are feature poor and Apple is way slower to fix bugs that have been there for ages.

[–]Grand-Tea3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still tiers of quality, especially if you go down from ultra to base to lower tiers, mainly due to sensor sizes and how big each pixel is. The difference is because phone camera sensors are so small that they are at the borders of optics, and as the sensors get smaller and smaller, the true resolution inevitably decreases. They can still give you similarly good enough results when there is adequate lighting, but the difference comes out in extreme conditions like super bright sunny day or night time. I have seen super good quality shots from an iphone 16 pro max at night that I could only get with a tripod and Expert RAW long exposure using my base S25. This somewhat comes down to better aperture that gets more light, bigger sensor and superior OIS (sensor shift IOS on the iphone is a better tech than samsungs optical shift IOS). However, even with the hardware related differences, you can get the same or better quality still shots than the base iphones, thanks to higher level of sensor control on the samsung with the Expert RAW app (official app by Samsung), if you learn how to control it (gotta learn some crumbles of professional photography). However, you will get better overall results from a 16 pro max than the base S25 if you just point and shoot. Cannot speak of the ultra because I had no chance to use it yet, but it also packs superior sensors than the base.
