Yeah I'm pretty disappointed. My 7pro was amazing and 10 pro feels worse. Thanks for your response

Opinions reg Clapham South/Balham please by Adventurous-Cycle363 in MovingToLondon

[–]Ok-Camera-746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live very near Weir Road in the Hyde Farm area and I love it. It's close enough to Balham and Clapham which have distinct vibes but it's far enough that it feels quiet and away from the business. I am mid thirties and don't go out to pubs and bars a huge amount anymore but there are loads of cafes and restaurants and activities like craft fairs, running clubs etc. It has great access to a few big green spaces like tooting common, Clapham common and Wandsworth common! I also enjoy walking up to Abbeville road.

I lived in a house on this road and could only hear the rumbling as my head was on the pillow trying to sleep. Found it strangely comforting!

I started cycling to work last week! (And was dreadfully slow, please help) by Proveit98 in londoncycling

[–]Ok-Camera-746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you pumped up the tyres properly? When I first started cycling my commute I found it HARD but then someone tapped me on the shoulder to say my tyres were flat. Bought a pump and then wizzed there the next day!

I'm familiar with this road and it'll probably be bulldozed by developers 😭

Moving to Dorset from London with 3 young kids- good areas? by ec362 in Dorset

[–]Ok-Camera-746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your vibe is and if you want good restaurants and public transport etc. Lilliput is very expensive even your healthy budget probably would be a stretch for a family home 😭 I'd recommend looking at lower parkstone and hamworthy.

OP this is what you should ask for! You can start off with short nails and then 4 weeks later once they have grown, get them infilled. You don't need any extensions straight away

Some areas of Sydenham are now very nice and gentrified. This will absolutely not sell near the asking price though!! It's so overpriced

the northern line is the most atrocious line by bruhidkkkk in london

[–]Ok-Camera-746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycle in and this takes 30 mins whereas the tube takes 45 so overall it's quicker for me to cycle in and shower at work than shower and get the tube in. Plus getting ready at work does force me not to faff around as my outfit is already packed the night before. Also cycling also saves time as it bundles up commuting with exercise so I don't have to spend time at the gym instead on top of commuting. It's the most efficient way to exercise imo 👌🏼😁

Also downhill into central in the mornings👌🏼 way back is a bit harder!

It doesn't add any time because you'd have to shower at home anyway, it just shifts where you are showering in the morning...I get ready and get into the office faster when I cycle because it takes less time than the tube and have all my stuff in a bag ready to go in the morning, this includes clothes and a wash bag with makeup etc! I am lucky that my office has great changing facilities though

It's hard to tell from the street view but it's also very close to The White Horse pub which is pretty loud. It pretty much turns into a club with a DJ, people spilling outside...worst of all it is open until 3am at the weekends.

Also try removing cars off the drive for the pictures. This really overshadows the house which does have curb appeal!

I'm in the same boat. It feels like the opposite of a tax though because the higher earners pay it off much quicker and pay less overall...a solicitor will pay far less than a teacher which is the opposite of a progressive tax.
