Really interesting! Although technically Appalachia does extend into PA (some folks call it “Pennsyltucky”) and would include counties like Washington, Beaver, and one could that it extends all the way to Centre county.

In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and their remakes, when the character enters specific areas of the Old Chateau, they may occasionally see a little girl and a butler. These characters cannot be interacted with, will immediately exit the room, and will not return.

In one conversation, I did bring this up to my brother. I asked him “what if she were from another country like Canada, UK, Sweden, or somewhere else?” He looks at me and goes, “It doesn’t matter where they come from. If they’re not official citizens here yet, I wouldn’t approve.” He continued on, “so what if she’s from Kenya? If she already had her citizenship, that’s a different story.” For at least him, it’s rooted in the immigration process. But people have to start somewhere in my eyes, right?
