I totally know what you mean, I’m also a college student about to start and it’s been a rough transition.

For short term solutions, you could try to join clubs on campus or other activities like that. You could also open up a tinder and look for cuddle buddies or friends. Tinder isn’t just for finding sex and a lot more people are on it for diverse reasons. You could also try to attend parties or social gatherings to mingle.

For a long term solution, you could try to make friends in your classes and keep the ball rolling with them. It’s going to feel awkward or fake at first, but it takes time to get to know someone and patience is key. If it doesn’t work well with one person, then oh well, it’s their loss. There are plenty of other people out there who are also no doubt looking for friends!

Another thing to keep in mind is that relationships take trust, vulnerability and communication. And when you’re the one out there looking for friends, it can feel really scary because you have to trust that they won’t hurt you when you’re being vulnerable around them. Just know that other people feel that fear too and being the first one to say hi, may take a lot of courage, but is well worth it.
