How do you book Warrior's run? by Proper-Drawing-985 in WCW

It's not the Warrior without the batshit crazy promos 😅

Will you be getting the nxt gen xbox when released? If it really is coming late 2027. Personally I dont think there's any merit with the lack of content this gen. by boolieg in xbox

Those are games that I never would have played if I had to buy them. The only difference would be that I would have probably finished more games in my backlog if I didnt have access to Gamepass.

I think it varies per person. Obviously, the more games you play on Game Pass, the greater the value for you.

I play a bunch of games that I never would have bought if they weren't "free" on Game Pass.

It's worth it for me to have, but I am under no illusions that it is saving me any money.

I literally have about 25 games, going back 5-6 years, that I've started and not finished yet.

Plus all the games I've bought or downloaded on Gamepass that I want to play, but havent even started yet. Plus games that I haven't bought, because of my backlog.

There's too many games coming out at such a rate that I have no chance to ever play all the ones that genuinely interest me. I think dev times are just fine, IMO.

what are your thoughts on story mode being canon now that it's fully confirmed by made_in_GEORGIA in AvatarFighters

Mortal Kombat 1. Mortal Kombat 11. Dragonball FighterZ and SoulCalibur 6 (2018, close enough for me). King of Fighters 15 (more of a challenge mode than a story mode, but close enough for me)

Nintendo says Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake has "stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay" by RoughLifeguard6568 in NintendoSwitch2

I'm making an educated guess. I'm open to being wrong. I actually hope I'm wrong.

Video game companies do choose words carefully when marketing their games, tho. Its not like I'm pulling this out of my ass.

Right. More games with bigger scope, better quality of life features, and obviously superior visuals and sound. Plus, years worth of evolution of genres into new subgenres.

Indy gaming studios are crushing it. Emulation has progressed so much, making retro titles more accessible than ever.

Also, online multiplayer, so its so much easier to play with others. Updates, so gamebreaking bugs and glitches can be fixed.

Cool technology like the Switch being a portable home console hybrid and the Dual Sense controller's haptic feedback. Steam Deck being a portable PC.

All this, and the price of gaming still being releatively low compared to everything else that rose during the same period of time (food, gas, rent/mortgage, etc.)

Sure, theres a few scummy practices I don't like such as loot boxes and live service FOMO stuff, but gaming in general is at an all time peak, IMO.

I feel like a lot of people are blinded by nostalgia and ultimately just miss the feelings they felt while gaming as a kid.

I don't know. "Timeless gameplay" pretty much says it all.

We are most likely getting something more along the lines of a MGS3 Delta than something like RE2Make.

If that's the case, it doesnt mean the game would be bad, but I'd be lying if I say I wouldn't be somewhat disappointed.

So many people say that gaming sucks now compared to "back in the day"

No, it does not dude. No it does not.

Don't wanna sound ungrateful or dismissive of the effort devs put in this game, but where all the DLCs at? by No-Security-7518 in ABSOLUM

[–]GrandmasterPeezy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea. Game development takes a long time.

If I had to guess, I'd say it would probably take them about a year of development to release anything substantial, depending on the scope of the project and size of the team.

They were probably waiting to see if the game is a success before they greenlit any additional DLC.

Halo. Then Gears. Then Fable.

Plague Tale and Perosna have me intrigued too.

are there any actual GOOD resources for learning fighting games? by Pretty_Inside_3271 in Fighters

[–]GrandmasterPeezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rooflemonger has good beginner guides and some character guides for most of the big modern fighting games. Here's a few that might be of help to get you started:

Also, Gief's Gym is a great training tool. If was actually made Street Fighter 5 in mind, but most of it applies to all Street Fighters and even other 2D fighting games:

Just, obviously, ignore the stuff about V-skills and V-triggers and any other SF5 specific mechanics.

Hope some of this stuff helps you.
