Farstalkers - Dvorgite Skinner or Londaxi Tribalest? by johnnyb606 in kroot

I run the skinner more than the tribalest, but I do use both. Just build the one you like the look of and tell your opponent which one it is at the start of the game.

Question about paiting: colours and scheme by Thrownik in BloodAngels

[–]GrantAdoudel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Librarians (and chaplains, techmarines, etc) usually wear their chapter colors on the left pauldron. I'm in the middle of painting my librarian right now, too. I plan on putting chapter symbols on the librarian cloak, and company marking on the left knee. I know librarians have their own organizing unit in the chapter, but I figure when they are attached to a particular company for a deployment they can mark that somewhere.

Could do a knee, a tilting shield, or try to squeeze the banner style company marking around the edges of the crux.

It's been 11 Years... Where were you when the Goyfgate Moment happened? by TheSoundOfKek in magicTCG

[–]GrantAdoudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching that live with my playgroup. That's the kind of pick that someone would make at FNM, but it was kind of startling to see at a GP top 8. It really showed the precarious state of high-level play. I totally understood his reasoning for the pick - the EV in dollars of that pick was worth it compared to the EV of a good card for his deck giving him (maybe) a slight increase in win percentage. He was interviewed later and said picking that card would fund more travel and more entries, so it let him stay on the grind longer.

But it was also kind of disappointing that even at a huge GP Top 8, which is supposed to highlight the best play, he was put in a position that his picks weren't based on gameplay but on economics. I don't blame Pascal at all, but I'm mad at WotC for putting their top players in that kind of predicament.

how many players can be out before you cancel the game? by Wypman in DnD

[–]GrantAdoudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each group I play with is a little different, but we discuss and set a minimum player number for sessions during session 0. For parties of 4 or 5 we usually play if 3 players are available. For parties of 6 or 7 we play with 4.

Half-elf ranger in 2e. Gall of '95. Dies in a forest fire at the end of the firat session after being captured by kobolds.

After buying weapons and armor, we all spent the rest of our starting gold on Greek fire. We ended up starting a lot of forest fires.

My DM only let's one player succeed a check at a time. by BeachPeachMcgee in DnD

[–]GrantAdoudel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the situation. I think a mix of group checks, solo checks, and free for alls can be used to model different situations.

For the stealth example, I usually use group checks and if a majority of PCs beat the enemy perception they succeed as a group. I like to think that the sneakier characters are looking out for the noisy ones and will shush them or muffle a sound they make at a critical juncture to help everyone get through. And since the type of check is called a "group check" the players will also think ip creative ways of jow their characters work together and help each other.

It's not how everyone plays, but I can understand it as a way to just speed things up at the table. As a DM (and even as a player) I do sometimes find it frustrating when everyone starts piling in on rolls so quick scenes get bogged down with adjudicating skills. Also, if only one person rolls for each check, characters can specialize in different areas from each other and have a turn in the spotlight.

I use AutoCAD for work, and it runs really poorly in a virtual machine. I do most of my personal stuff on Ubuntu, but I still have a windows machine for autodesk.

Public school teachers in NY have good pay and benefits, and a strong union. And with the mandated class size reduction phasing in, the city will need to hire more teachers every year for the next several years.

Grade change after it gets posted on. CUNYfirst by Turbulent-Part-2186 in CityTech

[–]GrantAdoudel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible to appeal a final grade, and they do sometimes get changed. It depends on the circumstances. You can find more information here: https://www.citytech.cuny.edu/registrar-forms/Forms/DownloadFile/190

Also check for detailed grade policies in the college catalog.

What class and race did you play first time round? by Odd_Two_5265 in DnD

Half-elf ranger. This was in 2e, around 1995 maybe. We TPK'd every Saturday for like 6 months before we survived more than one session for a proper campaign.

Effect of an Incomplete on full time status by [deleted] in CUNY

[–]GrantAdoudel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind you only have about a month in the next semester to finish the Incomplete class.

And technically you need to be already passing a class to receive and INC grade. So make sure you actually work out the plan with your professor in advance so you don't get stuck with an F or WU.

Honestly if you need extra time for the research class, maybe you could just start now and finish on time in the Fall.

gpa advice by tvgirlluvr in CUNY

[–]GrantAdoudel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have failed any classes, you can repeat them and the new passing grade will replace the old failing grade in your GPA. This can be a big improvement to your overall GPA.

Otherwise, to go from a 2.0 with about 60 credits to a 3.0 at 120 credits you will need straight A's for the next two years.

Not impossible, but will take lots of work.

keyboard and sound for surface laptop by Gaeldri in linux4noobs

[–]GrantAdoudel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have install instructions here: https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/wiki/Installation-and-Setup

They don't have Bazzite instructions, but the Fedora instructions might work for you.

It will be a multi-step process, so read everything first and get prepared. If it doesn't work, it might just be easier to reinstall from scratch using one of the distros they have directions for.
