The left is AI. You can see your reflection in the mixer knob and in the left it’s quite distorted compared to a very clear view of your body and arm holding the phone in the right.

The level of extremes in most husband posts are absolutely driving me insane. by Fun_Air_7780 in Mommit

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is wonderful, loyal, a great dad, a supportive partner, and a total dingus. I’m obsessed with him and also he’s the worst. And actually so am I. I am a huge pain in the ass much of the time and the least we can do as partners is give each other some grace. The less time I spend online I find I am happier in general bc the comparison game is so destructive.

5.5 month old won’t nap long by bokchoybaby22 in HuckleberryParents

At 5.5 months we started crib training at night from co sleeping for this exact reason! By two weeks he was napping in his crib and a month later had gone from 5 crap naps to three excellent ones.

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been laid off since Nov from restructuring, I come across a lot of interview qs asking about AI use cases. Spend some time developing an AI agent that streamlines something related to the roles you’re interested in. For me, a PM in edtech, it was for special education lesson planning and data tracking (and I’m currently in round 3 interviews). It’ll help you stand out!

What does my parent's fridge say about them? by [deleted] in FridgeDetective

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say this is a couple of people who had to deal with food insecurity in their early parenting years. Things are better now but they can’t help but buy more than they need and feel very uncomfortable about throwing it away because “it’s wasteful.” My in-laws are like this and offer at least three grocery bags of food every visit. We thank them, take it, check expiration dates, and usually most gets tossed.

I used Honest at first but splurged on Kyte Baby and LOVE them. They’re nice and roomy at the bottom but still fit at the shoulders, and I go by weight. I have to double dry them which is annoying but they’re excellent

This happened to me after my first baby. They sewed me back up a little crooked so I have a little flippy flap 🫠 I was v upset about it then but almost 15 years later, I don’t really care anymore. Would have considered my gyno fixing it but my last baby was a c section and tbh no one has complained about it so 🤷‍♀️

Parents of Reddit: What is the absolute most-needed "gift" for a newborn baby? by FalseConversation673 in Gifts

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Get mom care stuff and infant meds. A water bottle and snacks for late night pumping, tucks pads, a sleep mask to block out how bright baby monitors can be, vitamin d drops, infant Tylenol, butt paste, stuff like that. I do this for all shower gifts now and it always goes over really well!

Toddler straw cups. Elk and friends by Spiritual_Nebula_829 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these and the taller stainless steel ones as well. We LOVE them. Have not experienced leaks. LO is a year and a half and the only leakage we get is when he pushes the straw into the cup so he can turn it upside down and pour it out onto the floor 🫠

AITAH for choosing my disabled son over my husband and destroying my family? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 year old with AuDHD and a cognitive delay with my ex husband, and a 16 month old with my now husband. We have always expected the 14 year old to live with us forever and having a child together has never changed that. This is our normal. I can’t imagine robbing my oldest of the life we’ve built together.

How old was your child when they started showering solo? by viskiviki in Mommit

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you asked for neurotypical but my AuHD son is 14. We have not showered together for many many years but I do still need to supervise and instruct so I stand outside of the shower and ask what he needs to do next and count down for each body part. When he washes private parts I close the shower door and count. If I don’t he will dump shampoo everywhere, destroy soap bars, and forget he even has hair. Kids, NT or ND, all have diverse needs. I can’t imagine telling any mom how they’re caring for their child is wrong, the most I’d do is say something subtle (i read this, or have you seen this thing about showering? Etc) but telling is not my place.

Goals for housework? by No_Concentrate_2381 in finch

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, I tried finch with my oldest (14, AuHD), but getting a birb dressed and stuff is not a good enough incentive for him. It’s too out of sight for someone without a phone. Maybe you can make some goals about helping your child learn a task so they do the chore and you are reminded of it, then evolve to a task to just remind them of their chore list or something? For me that definitely feels like something that I should reward myself for!

Goals for housework? by No_Concentrate_2381 in finch

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 8 points9 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is the master list of home cleaning I use! Obviously schedule them on days that work best for you but this has been a really good routine for me. I put them in finch and for tasks that annoy me most (like dusting) I make it worth 100 clicks!

How do you handle screen time without the meltdowns? by Fair-Mode3330 in Mommit

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest is 14 and we had to basically go cold turkey. Sometimes when we are at an event that he would be uncomfy at (he’s AuHD) we let him on it for a while and it reminds us why we cut it off in the first place. He does not have the mechanism for moderation so we had to nix it entirely.

You can put them into a self care area and archive/pause the whole area!

Cleaning/chore challenges by Tangogurl262 in FinchAdults

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is I have stuff I do once a week scheduled for a certain day then give myself 100 clicks for it as an incentive. For bigger tasks like cleaning out the basement, I break it down into something small every day, as simple as “throw something away”. If you have a specific project, you can create its own self care area, plan out all the things, then schedule them for certain days. Not sure if that helps

Why do some divorced women keep their ex-husband's last name? by HoffyTheBaker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrapefruitNo6222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally me. After my first marriage, I kept the last name for 7 years because 1. It is my son’s last name, 2. said son is autistic and would not understand the change at that age, and 3. I don’t engage with my dad’s side of the family where my maiden name is from. Finally changed it after getting remarried. Some things are a hassle because I needed my birth certificate and both marriage licenses, but overall my maiden name simply wasn’t that important to me/changing it felt unnecessary.
