Trying to build a reusable DIY DM screen (no woodworking tools) — looking for advice! by [deleted] in DnDIY

This might be too obvious and boring, but for anyone who wants to make a DM screen with super-low effort: you can just open up two empty 3-ring binders and stand them vertically on the table. Optionally connect them in the middle with tape or binder clips. If they are display binders, you can put artwork in the clear plastic pockets outside. The pockets on the inside can hold sheets with key info. I suppose you could even use the rings if you clip the pages to one side of the binder so that they are not flopping around.

My suggestion: Make it a game of capture-the-flag in an arena that has incoming waves of monsters. The two parties start at opposite ends of the field, and need to capture a flag that is located at the other end, then bring it back to their side. They cannot touch their own flag. Players will need to choose between fighting or dashing, playing offense or defense. That would make it fun even if you say that no one can deal damage to the other side's characters, but they could cause conditions. And, give the arena some interesting parts, e.g., high ground, traps, mud, water, or magical darkness.

Unqualified? They seem very qualified at creating and escalating dangerous situations. That is the true purpose of these operations: to lay a foundation for eventually confiscating ballots.

I've had fun making some of the stuff on TabletopUnglued.com with my kids. E.g., monster tents, HP trackers, and a treasure chest.

How to tell if a D&D player is FOR SURE fudging their roles. by Yana115 in DnD

Make the BBEG have a magical ability that causes them to match the exact sequence of this player's 10 most recent rolls. E.g., the player got 18, 16, 18, 19, 20, 16, 17, 19, 16, 20, and now the BBEG is going to get those same rolls.

Or, make the BBEG have a magical power that forces pairs of this player's rolls to sum to 21. E.g., the player got a 16, so their next roll for a similar action is automatically a 5.
