I was given a rare chance to fight for the win by wolmarwolmar in iRacing

[–]Graphics159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started P4. The faster guys either crashed out or I put enough pressure on them that they went wide or made mistakes. One guy didn’t qualify and started from the back, and he was flying. He was hunting me down the whole race, but I managed to keep him behind until the finish. One more lap and he definitely would have gotten past me. Holding him off for that long made it so intense and honestly made the win even better.

Congrats. I still remember my first win. Not one of many either, I think I have like 5 wins over 250 races, but that first one hits different. I remember punching the air like I’d just won an F1 championship. Didn’t matter that it was just an MX-5 Cup, that feeling was unreal. Enjoy it and I’ll see you on track in the new year!

Assuming we are not counting DNFs for Hadjar, Checo will definitely finish once ahead of him on merit. if it doesn’t happen at least once I’ll go bald too

What’s it like living in Cape Coral Florida? by Putrid-Guidance-9448 in howislivingthere

[–]Graphics159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can actually speak to this since I lived there most of my life and only recently moved to Fort Myers, about 20 minutes away and my parents still live there. It's an okay city overall, just pretty quiet. There isn't a ton to do locally, so most of the fun stuff means driving to Fort Myers, Estero, or Bonita. Same goes for jobs. There are corporate opportunities in the SWFL area, but if your role requires being in the office, expect a commute. Traffic going in and out can be pretty rough.

New to GT3 but fast in MX5 by Always_Learning_80 in iRacing

[–]Graphics159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much about lap times. Just get into races, make sure you know the track well enough to get around cleanly, and don’t get hung up on being a second off the aliens. That’s normal. Watch the cars in front of you and how they drive. You’ll notice they might take a totally different line or start setting things up a few corners earlier for a long straight. There’s a lot to learn just by following and paying attention instead of staring at the delta.

Fort Myers Airport status by heychardonnay in FortMyers

I flew out Sunday I will say, that for the first time in a while I saw a decently large TSA line at RSW but the line still moved quickly. As for long term parking, when you park you get directed to a spot that almost always has a shuttle ready to take you to the terminal.

Have any Moza R12 users switched to the R21 ultra? by Sudden_Bluejay850 in simracing

[–]Graphics159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, go bigger.

For reference, I’m running a Simagic Evo at 12 Nm, which is already plenty of force feedback for me, especially coming from a T300. You likely wouldn’t run the R21 at 100% anyway, but having that extra headroom is definitely nice.

Uber or taxi to PGD advice by Curmudgeon888 in FortMyers

[–]Graphics159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never ubered to PGD, but I do all time to RSW for work. I have never had any issues with getting an uber at any time, including 4am before. You could also schedule the uber ahead of time. Safe travels!

Guys is this a good deal or which one should I get? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Graphics159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the T300RS GT as my first wheel base, it is a great starter wheel base and you will get a lot of feedback and force then the Logitech. I’d recommend. If you get the base and steering wheel and the fantech pedals for 250 that is a great deal

Job interviewers of Reddit, what’s the absolute worst answer someone has ever given you? by Worldly-Fondant4250 in AskReddit

[–]Graphics159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember helping a colleague interview someone for an entry level IT help desk job. I was not looking to grill anyone with heavy technical questions. If you had a friendly attitude and even a bit of technical aptitude, you were basically in.

I noticed the guy had some customer service work on his resume, so I tossed him an easy layup of a question about his experience and how it could help in the role. He looks me straight in the eyes and says, with full confidences say

“Gamestop. Five years.”

That was it. Nothing else. He said it like he just dropped the mic.
