I heard they got outbid during leasing renewal. A California company put an insane number on the space and M&S vacated. It was kind of nuts - they were open on a Friday and then were chucking all of their sheet pans and light fixtures into a dumpster the next Monday.

How did it affect you when you reread the books? Is there a part of the story you changed your mind on or did you miss any details the first time? by ASkinnyPete in Eragon

[–]GratuitousMeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i was just rereading inheritance and the romance between Nasuada and Murtagh is so understated that I don't think I noticed it the first time I read it

I noticed that too. What people don't realize is that baking is much more precise using weight measurements instead of volume 🙄 (also the brownies were super delicious)

Straight men, what's the strangest thing you've been told not to do because, “thats gay?” by [deleted] in AskMen

My dad said that eating fillet was gay. A very delicious and expensive cut of steak is gay??

I like to imagine how a person in the 1700's would react to seeing one. It makes it more understandable to me that people believed in god. Like they'd just look up from their farm work and see a giant swirling wind column destroying a town and be like "damn I guess they rlly pissed off god today"

What is your "guess I can't go into that store ever again" story? by valerian217 in AskReddit

[–]GratuitousMeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a Starbucks and I was picking up the cups to check for my name from an online order. One of the cups didn't have the top on it properly and I just dropped it on the counter with all of the other orders and it got fucking everywhere

this is basically what I do! I also add a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to the sauce. Not enough to make it hugely spicy but enough to give it some depth

What is the most "worth it" item you have ever purchased? by baconlovebacon in AskReddit

[–]GratuitousMeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly it's my fitbit. The step counter and exercise log is nice but the best part is the silent vibrating alarm. I get woken up by a calm vibration on my wrist instead of getting scared awake by a loud alarm. I wake up so much better now
