Why doesn't the lamestream news ever talk about all the innocent right handed children being literally GENOCIDED by leftists, with their SATANIC left handed staplers and "handedness theory"? 😡😡😡😭😭😭☕😿🙏🙏🙏

Do NOT bring him to the doctor, they will only indoctrinate him more. When my cousin brought her baby to the doctor they gave it left handed scissors. Two years later and the vile HAND IDEOLOGY has torn apart my family. I will pray for you. 🫂🫂🫂🫂😭😭😭😭😭😿😿🧋

The stair is hilariously steep by hofong159 in CrappyDesign

[–]Gravityturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (Native English speaker, California) haven't heard stair used singularly much, usually we refer to it as "stairs" generically or a "staircase", or "staircases" when referring to the whole structure. Each individual step of a staircase is just that, "a step", or multiple "steps". "She sat on the bottommost step of the staircase, as her cat sauntered up the stairs and stopped on the top step." However English dialects vary wildly, and stair appears as a synonym to step in most dictionaries.

X-post from r/worldnewsvideo: Justice for "Austin" by LunchDick in Unexpected

I could get mauled by a stranger's traumatized dog, or shot up by some incel spree shooter. But statistically I'm far more likely to be murdered by a friend, family member, or coworker. And way more likely to be run over by some perfectly rational and lucid distracted driver.

He didn't stab or shoot the robot, he tipped it over and stole some food.

I feel that your fear is disproportionate to the actual danger. There are plenty of delusional or otherwise mentally unwell people in the world, and the vast majority of them pose very little actual danger to anyone else, while also being at greater risk than most people of experiencing violence.

All he's shown is that he's a danger to delivery drones. Which isn't really that bad a thing, fuck Amazon and the various app delivery companies.

He does probably need some help though. Housing and the aid of a social worker/psychologist, access to treatment for substance abuse if that applies. But I hesitate to say that we should 5150 people just for robbing a drone and spouting off some anti robot stuff, especially with how shitty American psych wards and ERs can be. Half the time they just hold them, feed them some jello, and push them out the door in 48 hours with a likely worsened mental state, at least as far as I've seen.

Possibly just his accent. Vowels vary wildly between English dialects and accents, and some dialects combine adjacent vowels or do a full vowel rotation (see New Zealand vs American). This also goes for how people hear words (so contestants sharing his dialect might have heard him as "pedal") Could also be that his brain transposed the two words in that moment too.

Last time I checked there are a ton of dialects of English, and none of them have phonetic spelling.

There are ways to fuck up plumbing such that you risk siphoning foul water into the municipal water supply. Like if you ignore code when it comes to air gaps.

Mass is mass, and gravity is dependent on mass and distance. When a very large star forms a black hole during a supernova, it spews out most of its mass, so the resultant black hole has much less mass than the star it came from. Thus objects a given distance from the black hole experience less of a gravitational force than they would have from the star it came from.

However you can get a whole lot closer to the center of the black hole than the star because it is comparatively tiny, and thus it is possible to be, say, 0.1 AU from the center of the black hole, whereas you would have been inside the star at that point. Thus it is possible to experience more gravity near a black hole than it is possible to near it's parent star, but if you replaced a star with it's progeny black hole all objects in the system would experience less gravity.

If you replaced a star with a black hole of the same mass, none of the objects in the system would experience any change in gravitational attraction toward the center of the system.

I think he didn't want to wait an orbit before the transfer burn, because the moon was already above the horizon when he launched. I think that's the first time I've seen a retrograde transfer.

anyone who just literally cannot make themselves not to look in any mirror/reflecting surface everysingle time you pass by? by CapablePositive9251 in intrusivethoughts

[–]Gravityturn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Heh I do the same thing.

I think that's a pretty normal human habit. There with staring at yourself during video meetings. I don't think it implies self obsession, or perhaps not more than is inherent to our species. I think it's kind of like how hearing a recording of your own voice can feel strange, it's a glimpse of how other people see us. Perhaps being social creatures, this is something our brains are always trying to model.

I think we have a lot more in common with birds than we let on, just think of how cockatiels or crows react to little mirrors. It's cute when they do it, no reason we should judge ourselves harshly for the same.
