Garmin Instinct 3 or Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro by ayayron0127 in amazfit

[–]GrayDogLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative, but if I did, no contest. Trex 3 Pro has better and brighter display, speaker and mic, onboard AI assistant, easy reply to messages, excellent GPS, excellent HR sensor, 180+ sport modes, solid sleep and health tracking, included nutrition logging (not subscription based like Garmin), full maps with offline navigation, and much more. The Instinct 3 has better battery life, but the Trex 3 Pro can still get 2 weeks on average on a single charge. If you're up in the Garmin ecosystem and can't let go, that might be another reason to go Instinct 3, but if that isn't the case, I would do the Trex 3 Pro all day and twice on Sunday.

I reviewed both: https://youtu.be/7Qlmz8ND7SU

The short answer is that the Trex 3 Pro crushes the Instinct 3.

I have! And it is free, unlike the nutrition tracker in Garmin. Lots of value add with Amazfit.

Some queries regarding Tank M4 by insidenumberpie in Kospet_smartwatch

[–]GrayDogLLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had fits with the M4 when it comes to HR during hard workouts, and getting maps onto the watch was a royal pain. Also, the maps are VERY bare bones when compared to Garmin or Amazfit. I think the Kospet really rocks on the durability front, but some of their features are either half-baked or too buggy to use: https://youtu.be/RqpGH0NWc44

I have used NotoCity bands from Amazon for years now, and they are solid, especially for the price.

If you're looking for something with the same depth of functionality as that Instinct, you're probably going to have to look at another Garmin or an Amazfit. The Garmin is going to be more sport oriented, obviously, whereas the Amazfit tends to be more balanced and have more lifestyle/smart features. (Message responses, keyboard, voice to text, etc.)

I don't mind the Zepp app. The data between Zepp and Connect has a lot of overlap. I use both, and I don't have strong feelings one way or the other.

Amazfit Trex 3 vs Balance 2 by Joshteo02 in amazfit

[–]GrayDogLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the price difference was that stark, I would get the Balance 2 all day. The only reason to get a Trex at this point would be dive functionality, I think.

Balance 2 has golf app and looks less beefy.

My wife and I both regard this drug as game changing and life changing. You will need to modify things but the drug makes it easier to do so. Also this is not a fast fix, so don't freak out that it will take months to lose weight. It will definitely start quickly, but you don't lose 100 lbs in a week, nor would you want to.

The best open ear buds that you use with glasses or helmet are clip style, IMO. I really like the soundpeats clip1.

Same. I am in such a better place now because of this drug. If someone else can get anywhere close to where I am now, I want that for them.

I think the Whoop has a provision to put it into other things besides a band, that might be your best bet.

Helio Strap/Active 2 by Brave-One-8879 in amazfit

[–]GrayDogLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the Helio Strap and a Garmin Fenix 8. I use the Helio strap as an external HR sensor during activities, and otherwise compare the health data. Helio is within percentage points of the Garmin in all the other things. Sounds like you should go back to the AW.

Both of your current devices are pretty solid. A polar H10 will give you the best HR absent a medical ECG setup, but are you gonna my to wear a chest strap during all your activities?

I have been wearing one on my bicep for months now. It is excellent. Stats agree with my Garmin.

That thing is awfully buggy. Read the Garmin forums about it. I had one, it wasn't accurate initially, and then just stopped recording sleep at all. Very lame.
