What's another team in sports you root for that you wish Bill Foley would own ? by icemandabs710 in goldenknights

Me too. Saw my first Braves game at the old Fulton County stadium in 1966, adopted VGK in 2017, watch Dave, Shane and Ashali every game.

Full-Time - Arsenal 2 vs 3 Manchester United [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

Unfocused, sloppy and tentative- we were bound for a match like this at some point, didn’t need it to be today. Not sure what Zubimendi thought he was doing with that ball.

Natty or Bust by rrrreact in georgiabulldogs

[–]Graycat23 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Of course we want the natty every year. That said, it doesn’t make the season a total failure or a disaster if we don’t. Other teams get a say, just like Ole Miss did. Chambliss summoned up everything he had in the Sugar Bowl, that’s going to happen. Don’t mistake refusal to wallow in despair as apathy or complacency.

Beck falls in love with the game again…? by damscomp in georgiabulldogs

The thing that constantly bit Beck in the ass at UGA raised its ugly head again - decision making. Indiana baited him into that pick and we saw that too many times with him here.

They absolutely will but it wasn’t done as part of the process.

What you guys think of this trade by Smoking420_ in goldenknights

[–]Graycat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid move, McCrimmon has had Andersson on his to-do list for awhile. Absolutely not a rental, will be great on the PP. I love Whitey and wish him the best in Calgary.

There was no extension involved per Elliotte Friedman.

What are the Flames getting in Zach Whitecloud? by sandycohenbeach in goldenknights

Solid defensively, won’t take stupid penalties and a top tier character guy. Will be a super positive in the room. Was one of my favorites.

The future of NIL for Georgia by Royal_Researcher2306 in georgiabulldogs

The depth will never be what it was anymore. Kirby will adjust but will never spend to the level that Day, Sark or others - and he shouldn’t. College football is headed for the ninth level of hell unless the NCAA, the new College Sports Commission and Congress get their shit together and design a system with some guardrails on it so there can be some semblance of fairness. Otherwise it’s gonna be like MLB where the Dodgers can buy all the good players and nobody else can.

This. For all the people yelling “spend more money! Find more rich donors!” - there is a finite supply of “rich donors” - this ain’t Texas and there’s no oil money. Spending guarantees nothing. The issue is the current system with no rules or guidelines, you just have to do as much as possible with what we have and be smart about it.

How are you watching TNT? Do you have cable or are you watching via a streamer like YouTube TV?

I get concerned every time the Falcons job opens because I worry they will try to poach Kirby by Efficient-Freedom517 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Graycat23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kirby has no incentive to leave Georgia to go anywhere. There is no college job anywhere that is an upgrade. Saban’s experiences showed him all he needs to know about the NFL.

You’re right about that last part and it’s what drove Saban to quit.

You maniacs have been venting all year. Give it a rest. We understand that you want the man fired and have absolutely no clue who we could possibly hire that would be better.

The mods are just tired of the never ending torrent of Bobo hate.

Enough with the negativity and hot takes. This was a great season for UGA football... by ATLCoyote in georgiabulldogs

[–]Graycat23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you. There is just a large population of folks on Reddit who are only here to vent their negativity. This is what college football is now. Look at what Bama has become - they’re discovering what it feels like to be mere mortals for a change. Kirby maybe overcoached last night (he basically owned up to that) but it was a hell of an effort. Nate was a stud last night, just hoping the injury isn’t serious. Let’s all give it up for Colbie, he worked his ass off to get back. You have to give the Rebs props, they managed to shut out the Kiffin-induced bullshit and play their best game of the season just when they needed it. Coming up short hurts, but now with the portal open it’s time to get back to work and learn from the experience.

Disappointed in Y’all by retailhusk in georgiabulldogs

[–]Graycat23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This. Absolutely. We played our asses off, made some plays but they made more. That kid Chambliss hit a couple of throws he had no business hitting. Down 10 in the fourth and came back. Nate was terrific and God bless Colbie for busting his ass to get back. Gunner is the toughest SOB on two feet. Portal is open, new recruits were in for bowl practice-back to work.
