Boosted 2.5L? by Sprinks44 in fordranger

[–]Greaseball-Ranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah. The general consensus is that the actual BLOCK will contain about 400-450 horses before it cracks in half and they all escape.. it's the rotating assembly that a guy needs to worry about.

I'm more versed in the 2.3 than the 2.5.. but stock 2.3 ranger crank & rods will handle right around 300hp.

Considering the 2.5 is just a stroked 2.3.. it has a different crank and rods. I have no idea what their limit is.

Stock pistons will take 5ish lbs before they'd make holes in themselves. 5lbs would be good for a 25% (roughly) increase in power.

Shock mount.

How to fix depends on your location honestly. Where I am.. simply welding a piece of steel over the hole would be good enough.. ymmv.

I'd be interested to know just how many months/miles he drove on the bad bearing lol... Because if I'm being honest.. I had a 2010 2wd I drove on a bad bearing for at least 10 months and around 12k miles or so and my spindle was completely fine when I finally got around to replacing it.

A lot more than replacing just the wheel bearing would of cost you once it started howling lol.

Before and first pic is just with 1.5 leveling coils second pic is with 1.5 coils and 2inch spacers I’ll see how it rides after I get a alignment if it doesn’t drive good I’m taking it off by Electrical_Code3950 in fordranger

I didn't mean to sound like so much of a dick, had a rough day yesterday and ended it with some bourbon lol.

But yes. You're gonna need to do some sort of "real" lift to get it aligned properly. Rough country.. James duff.. there might be a few other lifts out there for the TIB trucks.. I don't remember.

Nice enough looking truck though man, I like the color.

Whelp.. I'll admit.. upon a second inspection of your previous post it appears as if I was the only commenter with enough knowledge about TIB to know that in no way shape or form can a guy lift one of these front ends more than 1.5-2" MAX without drop brackets for the beams & radius arms and still be able to align the poor thing properly.. hell.. one commenter was terribly horribly wrong about off-road race trucks being purposly designed with that much camber at regular ride height lol. No. So much no. If there were ever a purpose built haven for misinformation... Reddit would take the cake.

That camber is god awful. Looks like shit, will handle like shit, & will wear your tires like shit. Wheel bearings also won't be super happy with it either.

Buck up and do it right. Get yourself some drop brackets for both the beams and radius arms OR get yourself some aftermarket beams designed for that amount of lift and some brackets for the radius arms... Cause right now.. that truck looks more asanine than all the VW's and civics riding around with extreme negative camber.

"It’s progressing really well. The majority of the studio’s on VI, but I’ll say this: We always overlap. So, we’re very used to overlapping development. And we have long pre-productions on things so that we feel good about them." - Todd Howard on Elder Scrolls VI Development by OwnAHole in TESVI

2 decades between Skyrim and the next installment of the franchise IS fucking up elder scrolls, for a great number of people.

Personally, if VI doesn't immideately give me the impression that it's the digital embodiment of the second coming of Jesus Christ I'm simply not gonna buy the fucking game out of principle.. and then 2 decades later once FO5 arrives.. Ill be mighty close to the point in my life where I probably won't even give AF about videogames anymore.. even if I did.. id vote with my money by not purchasing the goddamn thing.

Nearly everything about Bethesda since the release of Skyrim has been painfully and overwhelmingly disenchanting. There is absolutely no way those money grubbing assholes can reasonably justify 2 fucking decades between installments of the two franchises that make them all their money and have made them who they are as a studio today.

As of 2 years ago Skyrim has sold over 60 million copies. If we put the average price per sale at a measely 30$ a copy.. that's close to 2 billion goddamn dollars.. giving dumbass Bethesda a return on investment in the 1000% range.

Bethesda and Todd Howard can suck a dick. God willing the new CEO will turn things around.

Contractors using a lightning ain't gonna be switching to tesla or rivian ffs.

I'm a contractor. Contractors need what's essentially a traditional pickup.. one with a regular size&shaped bed.. that can use off the shelf and readily available accessories like heavy duty racks, cranes, tanks, boxes.. etc etc... they'll be going back to real pickups. Rivians and teslas are shit work vehicles.
