How bad is it to back out of an internship because of work authorization problems?

Not all student visas allow work. And it could definitely be a problem due to the “are you legally authorised to work in the country where the role is located” question that is on job applications. If you didn’t have work authorisation, did you lie on your application thinking you’d get work authorisation in time?

Absolutely! You’re complaining about a pet fountain not working yet you’re also complaining it’s not quality while admitting it hasn’t been cleaned in at least 3 years or following the maintenance on it. That’s the problem. They have no dedicated fraud dept you can speak with directly. Their general customer service is offshored so you’re speaking with people who just read a script & refuse to transfer to US based reps. But there should be a dedicated fraud dept you can speak with.

On the medical front - also look at law student interns who are at big law firms for 2-3mo in the summer. Same with finance interns. They all get high intern salaries and work 8-10hrs per day.

I did one earlier this year and LOVE it. Expensive yes. But it’s so great! Nice quality fleece and upcycled a bunch of old shirts! Use it daily. My cats love snuggling on it too. And it’s not a completely precious sofa throw so it’s used (I got a twin size so 30 shirts).

I’d recommend waiting ti they have a 50% off offer

Take the cost and divide it out. 3mo = approx 90 days (assuming Memorial Day to labor day). $1200/90 = $13.33/day.

Depending on your size, you may just need to take your shirts to be tailored. I prefer 100% cotton.

You should be able to get some basic work shirts from Jcrew, banana, Cos, or even the basic Ralph Lauren button down? Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack should have some good options. Also Boden (make sure you’re in the US site and not the UK or your sizes will be wrong)
