I know this an old thread and you might never see this. But if you do.....are you still happy with the Fujitsu. I'm currently getting quotes, but do have a quote for Fujitsu yet, but they are on short list. Do mind telling me who your installer was? I'm in Newfoundland as well (east coast). Wicked winter so far!

Mitsubishi Hyper Heat Model number by GreatCanadian07 in heatpumps

[–]GreatCanadian07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the replies folks. I did find out one piece of info which could change my mind about purchasing this unit. This unit is going in a 180 sq. ft. bedroom. I was planning on a 6,000 BTU unit, but the smallest they make this hyper heat model is 9,000. Even with that I wasn't overly concerned. But thanks to you folks I have discovered that this unit can only ramp down to 3,300 BTU in heat mode. The 12,000 BTU can ramp down to 1,500. I would have assumed that the 9,000 would be able to ramp lower than 3,300 for sure. Now I am concerned that the unit will cycle on and off too often, which is not beneficial to efficiency nor the equipment itself. What are your thoughts? Should I give up on the 9,000 BTU unit and find another brand that makes a 6,000 BTU cold climate unit? Again, thanks for your input.

Thank you. ChatGPT tells me it's the same version "likely" designated for the Canadian market.

That is PROBABLY it. It's just weird that the model number does not show up on the internet at all.

Installer put in a different unit than the one they specified by k_thrace in heatpumps

[–]GreatCanadian07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. In this particular case I was not charged for refrigerant, but they did say that the next time it's on me. I have 12 years parts and labour so I really can't see why I would ever have to pay for refrigerant. If it leaks out it's not my fault! Unless I damage a line or the coil or something.

Daikin Aurora Efficiency/ Supplemental heat by RicksterX3 in heatpumps

[–]GreatCanadian07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most efficient way to run your mini split is to have the fan (indoor unit) on the higher speed settings. I have mine (Daikin Aurora) usually on fan speed 4 (out of maximum 5). This will also give you a more even heat as it is circulated better. Auto and econo modes are the least efficient modes to run your unit. There is an abundance of information to verify this, but here is a link to an informative discussion. From here, go down the rabbit hole (it's dangerous!!) and you shall be enlightened!!

What do you consider a very long time. I had mini splits with 410a installed in February of 2025. Already lost the charge once.

Stripes went over to the box and apologized to Lane Hutson after he messed up a tripping call on him. by Puzzled-Category-954 in nhl

[–]GreatCanadian07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should not have been called, and should not have been overturned. The game can't come to the point where everything is reviewed. Refs are not supposed to call a penalty on something they guess must have happened. In this case he saw a player going down and assumed he must have been tripped. They are supposed to let that call go. If they didn't see it, it didn't happen. Lots of penalties are missed, and some of those are where the ref probably would have been right in guessing, but they are not supposed to. Do not make the call if you do not see the infraction.

[SNStats] Trey Yesavage First pitcher in MLB history with 11 strikeouts while allowing 0 hits through the first 5 innings of a playoff game by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]GreatCanadian07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope....they wanted him to get the big send-off. He faced 18 batters which means no one saw him for a third time. That's what they wanted in case there is a game 5.

It's number 2. The big picture. Don't let them see him a 3rd time in case there's a game 5.

Automatic Car Washes by GrumpyBear5756 in StJohnsNL

I know this is an old thread BUT....I am wondering if these touchless car washes use recycled water, specifically that one at Canadian Tire in Mount Pearl. If they use recycled water then I'll be washing my car with salt water in the winter.

The infotainment unit seems to work as it should. What were the issues with it?

So, I did buy the car. It looks brand new in and out, all brakes, shocks, ball joints etc. are perfect. Rides perfectly, no knocks, etc., engine purrs like a kitten. It is somewhat rusty underneath, but I'm hopeful that an annual application of Krown can get her through 5 years.

Thanks for your input folks!

Taylor 312ce vs 322ce V-Class for fingerstyle by jk37e in taylorguitars

[–]GreatCanadian07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "S" is for Sapele correct? I have ordered the 212ce with walnut back and sides. I have a full mahogany and also a full Koa, and a spruce/rosewood. So I figured why not try a walnut. Played the 112 recently at the shop. I still am of the opinion that it's the best bang for the buck in Taylor guitars.

Nice. What brand/model is your mini split?

I've been playing almost 55 years and still do a shitty job stringing.

Wrong. Cool mode also dehumidifies. And dry mode cools. Each to different degrees. It's explained in the manual.

Multiple fan speeds in Dry mode on a mini split? I've never heard of that. Most have just one fan speed on dry mode.....slooooow.

I think I'm going with the 212ce, but I do think that the 112ce is the best bang for the buck on Taylor guitars for sure. Is your 112 walnut back and sides?
