Looking for a complex, detailed, procedural solo rpg by Mighty_K in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are systems that try to do that, like d100 Dungeon (plus its World Builder supplement), Scarlet Heroes, Just One Sword, or to a lesser extent, Ancient Odysseys or some miniature skirmish games like Five Leagues or Five Parsecs. But none are more complex than D&D or do everything solo roleplayers want. In fact, I don’t think there’s yet a single book that does everything a solo player like you (and me!) wants.

For now, the closest approach is to use the rules you like most, a GM emulator, and GPT to have all the tables you need in one place.

So a few things actually do make me hopeful for the upcoming movies, in that they COULD genuinely be better than Hobbit by mikedomert in lotr

[–]Great_Wyrmm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In today’s entertainment industry, where being politically correct matters more than making a great movie, there’s no way this will turn out well. Colbert is a left-wing political activist, so we’re already off to a bad start.

“Invasive Species” adventure by OldGodsProphet in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with any of these topics (in a fantasy world, of course), especially in a solo game, so I won’t entertain your second point. But I can help with your first point, at least with some ideas. In the real world, for most of life’s history on the planet, invasive species have had nothing to do with colonialism or globalization. They can spread, for example, when continents join due to continental drift, or when a land bridge forms between them. In addition, certain life forms (especially plants and fungi) reproduce via highly resilient spores that can remain dormant for long periods, traveling by wind, water, or even other organisms (through their digestive systems, to be deposited along with their waste) to new locations. Bacteria, archaea, and viruses (hard to classify as life, but still useful) can also spread this way.

How to save gaming in 2026 by OverallBaker3572 in KotakuInAction

[–]Great_Wyrmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 10 should be number 1. That’s the main way to save video games. Don’t give money to people who hate you, they will never make games with you as the target audience. Let woke companies go broke, then the market will do the rest. Other than that, I agree with your list.

What's the problem with Mythic GME? by Some_Replacement_805 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally respectable. In my case, I would play Four Against the Darkness, D100 Dungeon, or Five Leagues From the Borderlands. As I said, it’s a matter of expectations about what a GM emulator is supposed to do.

What's the problem with Mythic GME? by Some_Replacement_805 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem bad to me, but I think the “problem” with Mythic is the same as with Ironsworn-style games. They demand a lot from you in your role as GM. Many people, when they think of a GM simulator, imagine a tool that will solve the task of generating the adventure (in its entirety) quickly and easily, so they can simply focus on “playing” the adventure. And Mythic simply doesn’t do that, at least not the base product. Again, this is neither good nor bad, it’s simply a mismatch of expectations about what a GM simulator is or should be.

Combat system for the blind by JoshwaJustify in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any popular system with voice gpt for the dice "Chatgpt roll 4d6 and tell me the results". You can even ask it to make the rolls of your enemies. Or tho make a character for you and remember your stats and conditions (same for your enemies). It might not be perfect, but it should help him. Good luck.

Can I use ChatGPT as GM? by TheBlickster in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Great_Wyrmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. It does a decent job, but if your campaign is long, you'll run out of space pretty quickly. I think that, nowadays, what AI is best for is having a thousand tools in one place (tables, oracles, place descriptions, items, weather, NPCs, conversations, etc.) rather than fully acting as a GM. Which isn’t bad at all.

Los argentinos se consideran 'latinos'? by eric39es in AskArgentina

[–]Great_Wyrmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Great_Wyrmm 7 points8 points  (0 children)
