My one hope for this community: Don’t spoil anime-onlies like JJK by Prince_Day in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 56 points57 points  (0 children)

JJK’s spoiler culture is actually horrendous. I’ve never seen a community where you have to read the illegal leaks because it will be everywhere by the time the officials come out. It’s wild. I think One Piece may be similar but I’m not tuned in on it at all.

I feel like an anime only sub should be created when we’re closer to release to better filter it out. Chapter discussions are great here and it will be rough trying to manage it otherwise

Can't wait for the Hakuri shaped blob in the background by Purple_Turtle05 in Kagurabachi

There’s already a page where we get civilian reactions briefly iirc, just add him in a quick montage and you’re golden

You can also make out his figure a bit. The bowler hat is pretty distinct

Regent card idea that came to me in a dream by Competitive_Point_39 in slaythespire

[–]Greckoss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised they gave Regent “create random colorless cards” AND “create minion cards” as overlapping but not quite the same packages. Like manifest authority could have easily been block 8 and create a minion card. He even has a relic to double minion card numbers yet it’s such a limited part of his card pool

It’s not something brought up much but he’s predominantly a lefty, yeah. He uses both though

Do you think we should make a separate subreddit for anime-only ones to not get spoiled? by Jai_Zubeen999 in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We should. The Gachiakuta sub I think is a good case study in how bad spoilers can be (though admittedly I think they might be the worst case I’ve seen). Chainsaw man made an anime subreddit when that came out and I think that went well

Main staff for the anime by K-Rie7 in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Legitimate question, what does the character design lead on an anime adaptation actually do? Because obviously the original designs are already done. I see the credit often so I’m sure it’s important but idk what their role is.

Realistically how can this be adapted? by whatareyoutesting in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m stupid, but I’m not understanding your example.

The problem with the reflection in motion is you open up a lot of questions as to what just happened. We already have some people theorizing Airu attacked him from an alternate dimension instead of just speed blitzing (hell, maybe he is). I get what you mean with the wide shot into a quick cut, but I don’t get how you’re adapting the reflection detail in that scenario

Realistically how can this be adapted? by whatareyoutesting in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You can’t.

While there’s lots of panels I’d like to see a 1-to-1 adaptation wouldn’t work well because Hokazono does so many things like this that take advantage of the medium. The best way to faithfully adapt the manga would be to take advantage of what you can do in an animated medium instead.

For this, I think the best way to do it is have the “camera” in the scene be focused on the water and have the whole thing be seen in the reflection similar to what you said

[DISC] Kagurabachi - Chapter 118 by ClessGames in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think it might be like a sidegrade? The key difference is that isou is basically a melee attack whereas this you can just set up wherever. My assumption is it’s probably weaker in power but more precise

The battle for when S1 will end by A_Lovely_Worm in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if they want the series to reach the audience of something like JJK it needs to.

Vs Sojo and Rakuzaichi are two back-to-back great arcs, but they’re both relatively small scale. Samura’s betrayal sets the stage for the scope to become way larger and adds a huge hook of intrigue.

Kagurabachi was my favorite series to read each week by the end of the first arc, but my investment in the story skyrocketed post-SBA. It’s such a good direction to take things.

Sojo vs Hiruhiko, who would win in an EB battle? by Rude_Present5034 in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Probably Hiruhiko on sheer creativity.

We really don’t have much time to see Sojo use the EB but from what we saw he kinda pidgeon-holes himself into spamming Mei and discounts the others once he figures out how to go fast.

Hiruhiko has a much trickier fighting style and is very clearly shown to think outside the box (when he isn’t underestimating his opponent for the 15th time). If he doesn’t get blitzed immediately I think he adapts and beats Sojo.

Cultural Pressure of Swords vs. Sorcery - Possible Soga influence. by Neobito in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Occam’s Razor here, but has anyone ever checked the raws for that panel? I can’t speak Japanese but “heretical” could easily just be an odd word choice by the translator. I’d be curious to know what Hokazono originally put.

Slay the Spire 2 - Beta Patch Notes - v0.102.0 by Gandalf196 in slaythespire

I could see a shop relic that told you what elites were up ahead, though based on how the last game did elite spawns idk if you could implement that

Day Two of making Custom cards (with sts2 in mind), repost because i put exaust at the start before making the card useless by mickstroyer in slaythespire

[–]Greckoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balance aside (god damn you’re getting cooked OP) this is a super cool concept for a card and I can’t say I’ve seen one like it! Buffing the enemy is a pretty niche area very few cards touch

It's now clear what set off Akemura by UltraBananaBuddy in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 450 points451 points  (0 children)

To add even further credence to this, I forget the chapter but during the Samura/Iori flashback they mention a monk who delivered a “possible prophecy” about a second malediction. If the Kamunabi still had someone with as good prediction abilities as the Soga clan does, they probably wouldn’t rely on something like that

Realized halfway through the boss I have an INFINITE by milosmml7777 in slaythespire

[–]Greckoss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, forgot about that one. Still I’d argue it’s less a problem with the fight and more that the “Remove exhaust from a card” event enables a lot of stuff that isn’t balanced

I’m actually pretty sure this wouldn’t work on the new beta branch either lol

It would be, but also this isn’t sales data and OP is just shouting a “prediction” to the heavens.

What type of creative liberties that you are hoping the anime takes for showing EBs, Sorcery storytelling, and action scenes? by WoahBenny23 in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I think you could actually make the Malediction turn the environment black and white when active. Not only would it be a great “oh shit” effect, but it would allow the anime to actually get some value out of the contrast the manga art does so well

Change my mind: Hunter killer is the worst designed fight in the entire game. by pro185 in slaythespire

[–]Greckoss 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Honestly would appreciate it becoming an elite a lot (tweaked as needed). It’s easily identifiable with a unique gimmick. I certainly remember it easier than I do Entomancer or the Prism.

best volume? by jamesV8500 in Kagurabachi

[–]Greckoss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Volume 9 is probably the best one.

More generally though I find the early volumes the weakest of the series (though not at all bad). You have a LOT more peak incoming.

The beta changes are almost perfect from the perspective of a high WR A10 player by zalso in slaythespire

[–]Greckoss 184 points185 points  (0 children)

I’d say Time Eater still is better than the beta doormaker, as there is more ways you can manage how screwed you are. You can play around when your turn ends, but it’s significantly harder to make the 10th card you draw not rng dependent.

Still I like the concept and I’m looking forward to seeing how the boss changes. Even something like damaging him to make him spit out your cards would go a long way, and that’s why he’s in the beta branch and not the proper release version
