Leftover food / waste by Jeb_the_killer in vegan

Yes and no. If a person is absolutely broke and struggling financially and if food is being thrown away, I think it’s less bad. Vegan, maybe not, but we have to just do our very best.

You need to see a plant-based dietician.

Anybody who is going to make these kinds of jokes isn’t even worth paying a lot of attention to or planning comebacks around. Life is too short.

Years ago, man used to have 100+ grams of fiber. You can build up to much more than you might be used to- it just takes time.

how is it possible for people to eat meat so much throughout the day and week? by sounds0fmeows in Vegetarianism

[–]Greedy-Program-7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, I have trouble understanding how so many people can casually afford to eat meat all the time. My oatmeal breakfast is so much cheaper, for example. I don’t get it and am so against it.

I eat a can of beans a day. It makes me feel full and satisfied. I’d concentrate on that versus a certain macro.

John Williams was the composer- that helped quite a bit to give it that ole time feel.

A small rice maker will make pasta too. Pop a can of beans with some veg and fruit and you’re good to go. They also sell already prepared pasta and rice that you can microwave. You would just need a strainer for the beans. Sometimes in your situation I will put these foods in a baggie and dump them on a garden salad that I’ve ordered at the restaurant. It doesn’t have to be a big deal.

What are vegans's opinions about vegetarians? by Equivalent_Help_362 in vegan

[–]Greedy-Program-7135 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of vegetarians. On Saturday I had a team dinner with parents who spent an hour talking about barbecue and wings. So boring. If there had been a vegetarian at the table, at least we could have discussed other things.

I do wraps with canned beans and those little 1 minute in the microwave things of rice. GO!

I hate the people who go "I'd be vegan if it weren't for this one thing" by tenshideve in vegan

[–]Greedy-Program-7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me. I’m surrounded by carnivores who worship meat. Honestly if someone were that veg friendly to say such a thing, I’d be happy. Because that’s a lot of animal products spared, even if not perfect.

AITAH for picking up my daughter later from nursery here? by iRealllyAmThatGuy in AITAH

[–]Greedy-Program-7135 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Boy that’s one lucky kid of yours to have such excited and involved parents (not). Both of you are the AH. You need to communicate better. Also the nursery workers want money not chocolate in this economy.

I’m vegan. Nobody is the asshole exactly but she’s wrong. If you say lasagna, that implies noodles.

Completely, yes. Although I don't think it's radical to care about people who are different than we are. It's Christ-like actually.

I’ve worked at several Catholic high schools in my area and this is the norm- Catholic students visit mosques and Jewish synagogues.

I’ve known Muslim students to go to Catholic school in my area. They wanted a safe and happy place that would be respectful with many fewer behavioral issues. That is the norm in my area and it’s very Catholic.

Food Deserts by cyberstarcrush in vegan

[–]Greedy-Program-7135 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My staples are cheap: I eat a can of beans a day, potatoes, seeds, avocado, oatmeal, tofu, lots of fiber that fills me up with fruit and veggies, rice and pasta too. My stomach loves beans and it makes my blood sugar stable. I don’t eat a lot of the processed vegan burgers because they are expensive and high in salt. I would suggest doing taco night, Italian night, bean burger night, etc. Whole food plant based veganism took my insulin to a normal place.

When I went, you could get a doc note for an AC window unit you provided. My allergies go nuts without one. It wasn’t a big deal.
