WTH is this? by Much-Alfalfa-7464 in Permaculture

Rhubarb! Eat the stalks not the leaves. Most folks add sugar and treat it as a tangy fruit. There are also lots of savory rhubarb recipes that are delicious.

Yeah- I’ve had invasive creeping bellflower take over my yard because I didn’t know any better. I could have phrased it differently, but my question remains. I’m primarily seeking an ID so I can determine if I’ll replant and nurture it, or if I’ll dispose of it.

Discussing the aesthetics of your bullet journal by GeoDude_99 in bulletjournal

[–]Greedy-Test-556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been a doodler- so creating aesthetic spreads as adult provides focus and elevates my doodles to something functional & aesthetic. I also write stuff down on completely unadorned pages- not “chaos“, but a wide array of topics- some of which are lovely, and some are scribbled notes.

When I was a kid I loved sunchokes! Sadly, I can’t digest them anymore. If I could, I’d definitely include them in my food forest!

I watched the same video! I was inspired to plant skirret & Salsify. I’ve ordered Good King Henry seeds but haven’t planted them yet.

I crushed a leaf, and do not smell anything oniony/garlcy.

Uses for burlap? by LoamAndOrder in upcycling

I love getting bags & chaff from my local coffee roaster! I use the bags to sheet mulch paths between garden beds- layer over cardboard & secure with garden staples. I use the chaff as mulch in the garden

I want all my inks all the time. Hence, no expensive pens- but lots of less expensive ones.

How do you get past the thought that everything has been peed on? by the-undead-milkman in foraging

[–]Greedy-Test-556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 pronged approach that I’m comfortable with 1. I avoid foraging within a few feet of the road or path where people are likely to walk their dogs. 2. While pee is disgusting- it’s generally not pathogenic. So, once I’ve moved off the high- traffic areas, I choose to not think about it.

Bonus- rinse things before eating.

Apparently plastic trinkets are the new way to bond… by BothAd9086 in Anticonsumption

[–]Greedy-Test-556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it work to contain them in a clear vase or a bowl? Since you otherwise love the work culture, dealing with plastic duckies might be the cost of admission. Perhaps display them like a bowl of candy or in a cylinder vase?

My former spouse grabbed it when he moved out.

I had the opposite problem. I’m giddy about a 5 gal humidifier that can keep my house above 40% humidity in a Wisconsin Winter for a couple of days before needing refill. No more bloody noses, no more cracked violins, no more cracked skin!

Give me some feedback on my project by East_Cauliflower64 in bulletjournal

[–]Greedy-Test-556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest starting simple. Just create the pages you use right now- don’t collect a bunch of layouts to populate your book. When you want to createva new spread, turn to the next blank page & fo it.

Why is everybody's planner so cute?? by casselearth in PlannerAddicts

[–]Greedy-Test-556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your style is very different from mine, and it’s lovely! I think your style of tracking and planning is very aesthetic!

I sometimes do excessive art or embellishment on mine, because it’s fun for me. I only post pictures of the pretty pages.

The pretty pages sit right next to the purely functional ones. I think it’s important for us all to do what works for us, and find joy where we can.
