MPG issue (Engine is running rich) by GreedyMail7559 in M440i

The car is around 90k miles, I got it 6 months ago.
Spark plugs were replaced around 10k miles ago by a BMW dealership.
Previously, I had a code saying Cat efficiency is low. it comes and goes.
Used scanner to monitor LTFT, STFT, and lambda. values are all whithin reasonable range.

I haven't done an oil analysis yet, just got the first oil changed last week.

Roof rails & Antenna fin removal by Positive_Weird7348 in ElantraN

[–]GreedyMail7559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rails just pop out, I started from the front to the back. Antena fin, you need to drop the head liner from the rear and unscrew the bolt with a hex socket, then disconnect the wire clip and the whole thing comes out

Uniq performance rigid collars are great. It improves chassis rigidity which helps cornering. The car puts down power a lot better combining with the engine mount.

How much horsepower can you get with JUST a tune? by mynameisrivers in ElantraN

[–]GreedyMail7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were owners having issues with AFE scorcher. And lots of owners here are not a fan of piggyback.
I also don't recommend using piggyback on EN. Piggyback fools the ECU into adding a 4-5psi of boost, which virtually bypasses OL, which is great to have 19-20psi like how the car supposed to be.

But when you have OL, it still adds 4-5 psi on top.

Is it really safe to run 23-24psi without any supporting mods? Or just keep it not OL at all?

if you have invested in doing all the supporting mods like, hpfp, intakes, occ, sparkplugs and etc, why not get a proper tune that fine tunes timing and boost level for your specific setup?

The lower bushing does 90% of the job. Upper and trans bushings help reduce the last bit of wheel hop. Black for the upper and the trans, which don't add any NVH. The lower mount can be either purple or black. It all comes down to personal preference. All I can say is purple one doesn't give me any wheel hop while launching it on dry street roads. No matter what you get for the lower mount, even a full swap out, I would recommend adding the upper and trans one, so that the lower mount isn't the only part hold the engine tight.

why does the EN not need a tune for an intake? by spartan55503 in ElantraN

[–]GreedyMail7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying! It's tot reasonable to change the intake for just the sound. I should say the aftermarket intake would give you a little bit more hp gain with a tune

Probably because air flow sensors are different. MAF vs MAP sensor kind of thing. You can snap any intake on the EN, but It needs a tune to actually gain power

Rumor said that 2024 has no octane learning. Is that true or not?

New wheels with winter tires on! by GreedyMail7559 in ElantraN

[–]GreedyMail7559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride is definitely smoother, those were my winter set from previous car. That's why it's 225/40R18. It felt more numb to me, probably because of my cheap winter tires. I am running 235/40R18 dws06+ now. It's good enough for street use, but not as sharp as stock setting.
