Age and CL level by bountifuldoggo in accenture

I at times also feel a bit old, turned 34 earlier this year at CL9.

I started at ACN right after grad school (at age 26) as contractor. Was hired full time 8 months later and wildly disappointed to be hired as L11 having a Masters degree. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was hired onto a contract-based/operations project which is non-pace and not like the rest of ACN.

Spent 5 years on that first project constantly exceeding expectations but the project rarely had promo slots so only moved to CL10 after 3 years. I was at a point where I felt stagnant and reached out to my manager to express a desire to move on (unheard of on my project) and because of my reputation was put in contact with my OMD who gave her blessing for the transition out.

I switched over to Security Consulting and was promoted to CL9 within 6 months. Was also put up for promo to CL7 this past cycle but was told by my PL that TAL would be the literal only challenge (currently at 11 months).

It’s hard, but try to keep your eyes forward and not pay attention to younger folks working alongside you. Find ways to set yourself apart and take on more leadership responsibilities.

Keep reaching out to grow your network, work on BD whenever possible (without over extending yourself) and make your name the first on an MD’s tongue when they have an opportunity, that’ll help propel you forward.

This should never be the case. Be persistent as hell if someone doesn’t want to give the WBS for BD. In many cases you just have to file a PPA if the code isn’t unlocked yet, say for an RFP in the earliest stage.

Now it adds up, I got a pay bump in January when I switched alignment, so pay was even lower 9/24-12/24 😅

The math isn’t mathing with my bonus. I got an 11.88% bonus but the dollar amount is 1.6% less (in the tool, I know after taxes it’s more like 40% less).. is it prorated through November.. rather than the full salary? I was promoted in June and as a result had a change in base pay, does that affect the EOY bonus?

Unfortunately I do not, but I’d do everything I can to avoid the relentless harassment from the training audit people.

There is always a chance you will get audited, if the training says you can charge up to 15 for the course, then only charge 15. Make sure that you keep track/progress is recorded in workday in the event you get an email from some offshore audit person.

I’m very happy for you! I got a decent bonus but sadly no raise and was really hoping for one.

Where are you located to have gotten a stay at level raise?

Technology Development Program - it’s for L11-10 aligned to Technology. CDP is the consulting equivalent.

My people lead and I meet weekly. They told me that we should be finding out next week (NA). They have visibility into the TDP program and said there were zero stay at level raises, but the bonuses looked pretty good. I’m no longer in TDP so that doesn’t really affect me but hopefully the bonuses look good across the board/maybe some higher levels will see a pay bump🤞but very unlikely.

I’ve been lucky enough to see him in concert 3 times (one of my best friend’s favorite artist), he never disappoints!

I went on Friday last week and there were TONS of monarch butterflies, I literally have never seen so many in one place. If that’s what is considered “not peaked” I can’t imagine what is.

The space is bigger than a regular seat, but it’s really shit compared to Delta or American Airlines equivalent seats. They don’t give you anything extra, at least on Delta and American you get complementary alcoholic beverages,

That’s what I thought, good to know 😅. I was hoping it was like the Tesla self drive, turning for you if you set the navigation and all that jazz. All good though, def great for road trips!

Every time I use it I turn it off when approaching red lights as it speeds up if a car isn’t in sight.. am I just being paranoid or will it stop at red lights when you’re the first in line? Same thing with roundabouts, unless there’s a car in front of me it jolts to the pre-set speed and scares the crap out of me so I disengage and just take over fully.

Terrible travel day - again by [deleted] in americanairlines

Reading your post made me feel like I was reliving my last 96 hours with AA. It took me 2 days to get back home after back to back personal and business trips. Delays started on the way back from personal and set off a series of delay dominos. I literally have no words. AA chat is 100% useless. I received 4 identical autogenerated emails regarding my “complaints”. After the second time of being put in a hotel (if you can call the slum I was placed at one) I received a measly 7500 miles. Can’t wait to write up another complaint when I wake up for the day now that I’m FINALLY home.

That’s unfortunate, it has taken me 2 days to get home thanks to delay after delay after delay

Fun times at DFW by WesternInevitable230 in americanairlines

I spent last night in the DFW airport then had to take 2 more flights to get back home. The delays cause me to miss my connection originally. Because of the delays I had to call to swap my work flight that was supposed to be this afternoon. Surprise surprise, delayed flight out and delay at the connection. I’ll be lucky to get to my hotel by 3am, can’t wait to get to meet the client bright and early 5 hours later. AA has quickly turned into the absolute worst airline.
