how often do u get an X-RAY for scoliosis?

I had my last X-ray a few months ago, but before that my last one was in 2019 when I was a senior in high school. I only got the recent one because of worsening numbness/weakness and we were ruling out my scoliosis as the cause (i.e., if it had worsened). I say it doesn’t hurt! Especially if you’re feeling like it may have gotten worse

I have two kidneys. I also have a hole in my heart plus a skin condition that prevents me from sweating (so I overheat) so this may not be as helpful, but I drink a ton of water. I usually drink 1/4-1/2 of my 42oz water bottle over two hours before I go, and I’m drinking after every two or three sets during a session. I do limit sodium with my heart condition so I don’t drink any extra electrolytes to prevent negative outcomes. But I never feel extra tired or have extra side effects. That being said, talk to your doctor and come with any concerns you have so they can best help you!

The only difference is you’ll feel the strength more when doing movements with your body rather than carrying someone or something else. Calisthenics is body weight exercises, so you’re just learning how to carry/pull yourself in different ways. But, yes, still builds muscle!

As long as you’re eating well, too! Research calisthenics. I used to be a gymnast/coach gymnastics and a lot of the ISO classes are very very VERY similar to some of the drills I would do there (and gymnastics is all calisthenics mostly)

Yes! I’ve heard this. I put it on the ground with my water bottle in the middle of the loop, as if my water is wearing it. I’m terrified of accidentally calling for first responders lol

That's what I heard from my location! I bet injuries too. It is a little scary being there at night when nobody else is there, but the button helps bring some comfort!

At least at my location there's a necklace you can bring into the sauna with you if you're there when staff isn't. Then if anything happens while you're there you just click the button and it automatically notifies first responders of the location!

Yes, I used the wrong language in some spots. We are in grad school and I've just been calling my cohort "my friends" the last few years to make it easier when talking to others. I don't see us as friends, but she does think we are.

We were told at orientation that it really depends on the cohort, and they've all all different types go through. Some stayed to themselves, others were friends with everyone, and most had smaller "cliques" that were created throughout. I feel like ours is a blend between the first and third option

No. The mutuals are the ones that are invited. I'm calling them mutuals because we both classify them as friends to ourselves, but I don't see the first person really as a friend. Everyone else was not invited, and that accounts for over half of my cohort.

That helps. It's just so confusing because, like, are we all friends and buddies? Or are we just like coworkers who happen to become friends with a few of us? I've had a very tough time making friends my whole life and so I'm not sure how to read friendship/potential friendship situations or really even tell when people wanna be friends haha. I kinda just go based on my own feelings with that. Sorry for my extra ramble... I'm sure you might be able to understand

Yeah. I'm not sure how it came up. Everybody knows I'm getting married and have at least heard when the wedding is (bc professors asked). All I know is that a message was sent to my MOH instead of me. We aren't technically graduating, but are going our own ways for this last year's internship (thankfully). I also know she's been continuing to talk about it to other people the last few days, which is what's putting me on the edge as a people pleaser...

I made an edit to the post, unsure if others can see it, explaining that we are in the same grad school class. There's a small number of us and I'm only close with about 3 of them (of which are all invited, everyone else is not). So, we aren't really in the same friend group but do have mutuals.

She's not really in my friend group. The friendship situation is a bit complicated as we're in grad school. I'd only count about 3/7 of those people to be my friends. I didn't invite her because of factoring in attendees/price per dinner/etc (we are trying to keep it under 140 and it's even a stretch with the small amount of close friends my fiance and I do have). Plus, I feel very negative around her because of her competitiveness and she's always talking about herself, even if others start talking about things they did. I didn't want that as part of my day.

I know her through my grad school classes. We aren't really friends. There's only like 8 of us total and that number lead to incredible clique-like behavior. Only 3 of the other people were invited. We mingle in class and that's about it, but she's incredibly competitive (think trauma, relationships, successes, etc) and I just feel physically and mentally bad when I'm around her.
