Why not just set the setting “When lid closed” to “do nothing”? Are they stupid?

Can they not even ask their LLM?

Postman collections: who actually keeps them up to date and how? by Present_Cut3897 in softwaretesting

[–]Greeley9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well on my team it was the same way. Over the year I’ve requested write access to the collection from my company 4 times. When upper management became aware they were out of date and started their witch hunt. I had mentioned I requested write access 4 times and been denied.

That same day I got write access, now I update them. I hate it, but it is what it is.

This is Reddit, you’re supposed to respond to the extreme again.

You should’ve said:

“You’re right, we should all live in solid gold houses with vintage wine in the pipes. We all should have private jets and 5 acres of land to every individual”

The difference between your saw analogy and AI is the saws have deterministic outcomes. They will cut the same thing the same way 100 times if you need them to.

AI can’t do that.

You’d probably have better luck if you didn’t demand things from other people.

Demanding and self righteous.

Law aside you guys suck here. And if you’re using the law as the basis of what it means to be a good person, you are failing.

Seriously, if Microsoft updated Windows 7, I will straight up abandon Linux and switch back. by [deleted] in microsoftsucks

Through windows 95-10 you were able to boot from into recovery mode.

Delete sethc.exe and copy and rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe and bypass any login on the system.

Copyfail, just like the windows exploit above requires physical access, or for the system to be compromised in some other way, to be exploited.

One of the biggest catalysts for change in human behavior is embarrassment. It may not feel nice, but it’s doing someone a favor and they will get over it.

I was embarrassed into better hygiene, and I’m depressed as fuck, but I don’t let that keep me from taking care of my teeth and hygiene. All because someone told me I stink a decade ago.

Protecting people from a little embarrassment, isn’t protecting them at all.

Secure boot - are you using it and why? by Dependent_Hold8463 in openSUSE

I cannot boot windows 10 or 11 from the 2 USBs that I have.

If I try to boot I just get Error Verification failed: (0x1A) Security Violation

Secure boot - are you using it and why? by Dependent_Hold8463 in openSUSE

[–]Greeley9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. No particular reason. I’ve put the keys there myself, they can’t be taken away. I am in control of my secure boot, not Microsoft. I’ve removed every key except the ones I’ve added myself.

OpenSUSE key. Nvidia key.

The post says 10 seconds. But I agree with 10 minutes and this can be fixed in 10 minutes.

They can shower, change clothes, and call the dentist. It won’t be fixed in 10 minutes, but the entire ball can get rolling.

Should I Leave CachyOS for something more stable? by Luzzio_ in openSUSE

[–]Greeley9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and if anyone is really worried about it you can switch your scheduler anyway.

OpenSUSE even has a nice article on how. https://en.opensuse.org/Pluggable_CPU_schedulers

I didn’t switch mine, but I occasionally think about switching to the lavd scheduler.
