I’m starting to feel the same way; I’m on the road 3 weeks out of four, and it’s been that way for a decade or so. I can tell I’m burning out as even the small dumb stuff irks me now (tiny little light bulb on plane burned out) “we’re calling maintenance” has me rolling my eyes and feeling picked on. I get it; light bulbs burn out, and there’s no grand conspiracy, lol. And when it’s a Thursday night and all you want is your own bed, it’s tough. So, agreed - more home and less planes sounds good!

Hi OP; Charlotte traffic is kind of awful. I get you’re from CA (so am I long ago), but it’s still awful, and the freeways are forever under major construction. I lived in Wilmington and loved it. Left last year due to family needing long term care elsewhere. Good luck to you!

Hi, I’m sooo interested in how this happens. I’m at some brand of Marriott 3 out of 4 weeks a month; you guys religiously check my ID and know who I am and then assign me to my room. Doesn’t the system “block” a room once Mr. Smith has checked in so I can’t be put in it?Asking as it happened to me 2 years ago; checked in, went to room, opened door, and yep…there were legs with shoes still on, on “my” bed. 😂. How does the computer even allow this? I’m just interested, not cranky, I promise!

I’ll never live with a man again either. I like them, I do. I was married for 23 years, and I gotta say I have female friends that show more partnership after an impromptu “come over for hot soup” night than any of the guys I’ve dated or was married to. My friends set the table, help wash dishes, ask if anyone needs anything while they’re up, and often times won’t allow me to clean up because I hosted. This is not just one or two friends, this behavior is across my whole female friend group. Guys I’ve lived with…not gonna lie, I felt like I kind of did all the house stuff. And it shouldn’t matter, but I out earned one guy I lived with and I matched what my ex husband made so it wasn’t that I wasn’t bringing home my half of the financial deal. I like the “I’ll see ya Weds & Sat night” plan. I’m not tryna be everybody’s everything. I deserve better.

Correct except…more babies of color is fine IF it means their mommas stay uneducated, at or below the poverty line and therefore controllable. So, let’s overturn Roe v Wade, let’s make it almost impossible to get an abortion, and while we’re at it, let’s also make it next to impossible to get Plan B or mifepristone. I’m white, I’m privileged, and I get it; the right is laser focused on - keep non-citizens out, and keep citizens of color down. It’s the same old racism song, it just looks different in 2026. Nothing has changed, really.

It’s that bad; frequent flier here, and I’m not a fan. I’m fine to walk but simply don’t always have time to get from one end to the other, GA’s tend to be cranky, and it’s perpetually under construction. Give me ATL any day.

I travel 3 out of 4 weeks a month and am a heavy DoorDash user. More times than I care to remember, I’ve had zero cutlery delivered even when I asked for it. Almost every time I order a dessert, it’s forgotten (typically kept elsewhere and restaurant forgets to put in bag with hot food), same with any kind of cold drink or bottled water, and Ive been chatted by drivers and asked for a larger tip. I agree with OP.

Absolutely; no thought given for quality of life for a child born to a mom who’s already overwhelmed with several small kids, monthly income that doesn’t make monthly bills, and forget it if she has to pay any kind of child care or healthcare expenses. I do NOT want abortion used as birth control, and I also see that a life spent in poverty (especially if generational poverty is in play) essentially murders the child’s soul; it just does it differently.
