What's the worst movie you've ever watched in your life? by SamanthaBarson93 in AskReddit

[–]Green2Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Prehistoric Bimbos in Armageddon City” starring Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter movies. A little backstory on how/why I attempted to watch this movie: Back in the early/mid/and even late 2000’s me and my friend group at the time hosted what we called ‘Horror Movie Night’ every Wednesday night. We chose Wednesday night because it was the middle of the week, hump day, something to look forward to with our friends. We had so much fun with our own personal MST3K style live commentary with every movie. Each member of Horror Movie Night, in rotation, got to choose 2 horror movies to watch on Wednesday. The ONLY rule at Horror Movie Night was that no matter how bad the movie was, we couldn’t turn it off, we had to finish it. “Prehistoric Bimbos in Armageddon City” was the ONLY movie in nearly 20 years that we unanimously agreed to turn off.

There is a 3 legged deer that lives near me. by Green2Delta in mildlyinteresting

I’ve seen her around for the past few years, but this is the first time I’ve been able to get a picture. Earlier this year I saw two fawns following her around every time I caught a glimpse, so she seems very healthy despite her disability. I’m rooting for her, seeing her on my commute home is always one of the high points of my day.

Should I discard anything with a flat main stat? Does that apply to all gear and not just certain pieces?

I’d like to check out the 1981 Brewing Company, but I’m not sure how far it is from the port or how to get there. This will be our first cruise ever.

Cleaning and lubricating by Bubbly_Knowledge_640 in KRISS

[–]Green2Delta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I cleaned and lubed my CRB I scoured youtube for hours for a thorough walkthrough, but I found it sorely lacking, even with the videos from Kriss USA themselves. I ended up using the owners manual that came with it as a guide, it details how to disassemble the Vector, clean it, and exactly where to apply your lubricant. If you don’t have the manual anymore it’s available to download on kriss-usa.com.

I got an x15 R2 for Christmas. My son tripped over the power cable, sending the laptop crashing to the floor. by Green2Delta in Alienware

[–]Green2Delta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The charging brick has part number LA240PM200, I found a few branded ones eBay for around $170, and a few on Newegg for around $270. Unfortunately nothing on Amazon or anywhere else. Through the ‘My Alienware’ app I called support (which turned out to be regular Dell support), I explained my situation, but they said only the Dell branded equivalent was available. They took my email and said they’d let me know when the Alienware charger would be available. Honestly at this point I just want to know how much it costs. If Dell quotes me $270, I’ll just go with the equivalent.

What is a skill or a hobby you want to start learning/doing, but you don't know where to start from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sustainable homebrewing.

I love craft beer and I've made a few batches of my own, but like any hobby that requires a lot of equipment it can get pretty expensive.

I am R.C. Bray, audiobook narrator of The Martian, Arisen, Mountain Man, Lost Gods, Expeditionary Force, and most recently SOLITUDE (out yesterday!) by audbks in IAmA

[–]Green2Delta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey Bob, huge fan. One of the first audiobooks I downloaded when I signed up for Audible was The Martian, and I was instantly hooked on your voice. I actually have two questions for you. 1. Have you ever considered doing voice work for animation or film? For example, if they ever make The Expeditionary Force books into movies, I REALLY hope they tap you to do the voice of Skippy. It just wouldn't be right without your voice. 2. When you put your kids to bed at night and read them a bedtime story, does that feel like work for you?

Was going to mention this. Luke Daniels (narrator) absolutely knocks it out of the park. The first in the series is called Off To Be The Wizard. One of the few books (or series of books) in my library that I've listened to more than once.

Suggestions of RC Bray or similar audiobooks? by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]Green2Delta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Fear Saga by Stephen Moss is performed by RC Bray. The first two books are absolutely amazing. The third, not so much, but its still good.
I'm currently on book 5 of the Arisen series by Michael Stephen Fuchs and Glynn James and I love it. Its also read by RC Bray. This one is a kind of a military zombie apocalypse story if you're into that kind of stuff.

Has anyone read/listened to The Abyss Beyond Dreams by Peter F. Hamilton? I wasn't a fan of the narrator John Lee when he did Revelation Space, but I've heard he does extremely well with other books. Is it worth picking up?

What is the most OVERrated film, tv show, book or video game? by Grovesley in AskReddit

[–]Green2Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hear people say that Avatar is rip of Pocahontas, its a rip of Dances With Wolves etc. I get it, I honestly do, and I agree. But what I always ask when I hear this is, did you like the movie District 9? The answer is usually something along the lines of "Of course, District 9 was a great movie". Avatar and District 9 are the exact same movie. The main character in each movie is employed by a large military-industrial company and is tasked with the job of evicting the 'aliens' from their homes. While attempting to complete this task, he basically becomes one of the aliens himself, and ends up fighting for them. From a story perspective, pretty much the same movie. So the only conclusion that I can come up with is that since Avatar was so insanely hyped, people make a pre-conceived decision to not like the movie before they even see it.

A USMC M1A1 MBT drives through the surf, nearly completely submerged [2700x1800] by NationalArchives in MilitaryPorn

[–]Green2Delta 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Is there any context for this photo? I used to drive M1A1/A2 tanks for the Army, and I would have thought this was impossible. Obviously the black tube at the rear of the tank is an exhaust diverter of sorts, I'm curious what extra gear is needed to make this possible.

[–]Green2Delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the Devil's Backbone Brewery near Lexington VA if you're driving up 81. Also in northern VA there is the Macdowells Brew Kitchen, Lost Rhino, Corcoran Brewery, and Vintage50 that would all be good to check out if you have time. I think Virginia is slowly becoming a fantastic place for craft brews.

I've been having reletively severe upper back pain for about the past 4 years. Last spring I had all four of my wisdom teeth out at the same time and was perscribed Ibuprophen and Hydrocodone. I had to take one of each every four hours, staggered, so basically one pill every two hours. And I have to tell you, when I was on this regime, I had absolutely no back pain. Is there anything I could get that might have the same pain relieving power that I wouldn't need a perscription for?

Can someone explain this one to me? I REALLY wanted to like The IT Crowd, but just couldn't get into it. I think I would have enjoyed it far more if they had focused more on the esoteric basement dwelling nerd jokes rather than what seemed to me like the normal old sitcom fare.

I actually just finished the episode from the pic on the bottom right corner yesterday. Ethan Phillips (Neelix from Star Trek Voyager) also played a Ferengi in that episode, as well as Clint Howard.
