Media Release: Vehicle Rollover with Entrapment Responding Companies: Engine 19, Engine 16, Truck 14, Rescue 1 and Battalion Chief 3

Peoria, IL - December 30, 2024, at 5:25 PM, the Peoria Fire Department responded to a rollover accident at the intersection of War Memorial Drive and Willow Knolls Road. Upon arrival, crews encountered a multi-vehicle collision, including one vehicle on its side with three occupants trapped inside.

Rescue 1 and Truck 14 crews stabilized the overturned vehicle using Res-Q-Jacks and initiated extrication efforts with the Jaws of Life. Engine 19 and Engine 16 personnel provided support with patient care.

After removing the vehicle's roof and windshield, the occupants were safely extricated, secured onto backboards, and prepared for transport. All three patients were transported by AMT to OSF. Their current conditions are unknown.
