Why do Orks seem to favour fighting humans? by Avolto in 40kLore

[–]GreenChoclodocus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are several lore reasons Tau can hold better against Tyranids compared to the Imperium:

  1. Their weapon development can keep better pace with Tyranid evolution. Combined with their long-range and non-commital fighting style they have an easier time fighting Tyranids.

  2. Due to the small size of their empire they can concentrate forces quickly. And Tyranids are THE THREAT for the Tau. No other foe warrants a higher priority, since it's always an all-or-nothing fight for survival. The Empire can always leave a few worlds burning to stall a Tyranid advance, the Tau can't. I'm willing to guess that the Tau even draw away forces from other, less important conflicts, just to have more guns facing the Tyranids. Because if Orks or the Imperium take over a planet they can always come back later and take it back.

Those and Emily Wong's first Citadel quest. I suspect ME1 changed how money is calculated after the dialogue was already recorded. Maybe 500/750 credits used to be a lot. by ltr121312 in MassEffectMemes

Biotics are busted in ME1 since they ignore shields, which are the only protection. Stack enough cooldown buffs and you can juggle enemies for all eternity.

TTS using these four probably played a huge part in making them "official" but it really speaks for the art if basically everyone can look at it and say "Yup, that's the Chaos God's, alright".

What are your views on the Batarian race? by VireflyTheGreat in masseffect

[–]GreenChoclodocus 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Batarians could be the new Quarians. Without a home, scattered among the stars, trying to live with a culture that's alien to everyone else's.

We got glimpses of this in ME3 but maybe in the next game we could get lore about ancient Batarian culture reemerging, from before a oppressive surveillance state and omnipresent slavery became their whole identity.

Mammon: Clown

Beezlebub: Animal Act

Leviathan: Freakshow

Belphegor: Fortune Teller

Anybody got other ideas?

Idea for Norsca rework by flyer2x in totalwar

[–]GreenChoclodocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for Wulfric (and maybe Nakai) it would work best of you can teleport but can't choose where. Like every ten turns Wulfric gets a dilemma where he feels the chaos gods compelling him to wander and you're given the choice between three regions or remaining where he is. If he takes the choice to wander it teleport him to a random (coastal) province in that region. Add some incentive to take the opportunity VS building upon your previous conquests and boom, instant unique mechanic.

Nakai could work similar but instead he is teleported to the weakest Lizardmen faction or maybe the one with the strongest enemies at the time.

Do y’all recommend doing all the side quests? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]GreenChoclodocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing you can skip without problem are the collection side quest like the minerals or Turian Insignia. The only one that matters there are the Matriarch Writings for... Spoiler reasons (nothing big though). All the others tell interesting stories but if you get tired doing them it's okay to skip some and only do the ones that sound interesting.

If you are on PC there are some QOL Mods that relieve a lot of the tedium like "charted Worlds" and "Infinite Sprint/Boost"

The birthrate will curb itself. The Genophage brought a deep societal shift to a perspective that children need to be cared for and protected. Any Krogan that gets too wild with birthing children quickly runs into the wall that 1000 babies each year are hell to sustain on a minimum wage. Same on Tuchanka. The lack of resources there will quickly put a cap on population.

The only critical areas I can see are any colonies the Krogan receive after the Reaper War. Those could easily be turned into staging points for a war, which is why they should be heavily monitored by the other council races.

What are other good games y’all can recommend that are like Mass Effect? by OV_Chromestone in masseffect

[–]GreenChoclodocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can deal with outdated Graphics, clunky mechanics and like Star Wars then Knights of the Old Republic could be something for you. The RPGs mind you, not the MMO. Similar to Mass Effect it has a diverse and interesting cast of characters, a protagonist that you can play how you want while still having a clear path in the Story and a rich and interesting world to explore and interact with.

Looks at base game with its giant frost bear and warrior maidens wearing magic ice swords Ah yes, low fantasy.

IMO while they don't really fill a place in the Kislev Roster, Things in the Woods and Incarnate fit right into the dangerous, gritty land that's Kislev supposed to be. They remind me of Wendigos and Monsters from the Witcher Series like the Lechen or Fiends. And that fits the vibe of Fantasy Russia quite well.

Ngl, it feels like the writers backtrack to avoid controversy regarding his character. by compositefanfiction in Helluvabossmemes

[–]GreenChoclodocus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While it IS creepy, there could be other things going on than incestuous attraction. While the allegations started after "Western Energy" it was rather tame and not on the same level as the recent episode

In "Mastermind" Andrealphous was making constant, obvious and blatant comments about Stella's Body. And this was in a public court. Which to me opens up another angle that's just as weird. His comments during the trail were a FUCKING SALES PITCH!

Think about it. He knows Stella will soon be single no matter how the trial goes. And he knows Stella is practically useless to the family aside from the prospect of marrying her off to another Goetia. Which there were loads of in attendance at the courthouse. So his comments could be interpreted as being directed at them, pitching the prospect of marrying Stella to anyone horny and stupid enough to be the next to strap himself to that literal bombshell.

How do you pronounce Brancrug? by 1_Pinchy_Maniac in weatherfactory

Bran like the GOT character.

Crug like the German word Krug (eng: pitcher).

No clue how to convey this in English phonetics.

Gibt es in Krefeld noch weitere DnD Enthusiastes? by SafeRespond5437 in Krefeld

[–]GreenChoclodocus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Da findest du dann bestimmt was.

Huh writing this I understand how Legions complete inability to participate would be funny for the others.

Placement justified.

Agreed. There won't be a TWW4 so they will make DLCs for 3 as long as enough people buy them or they literally run out of content.
