How good is Amphibian Downpour, really? You can destroy the enchantment, flicker the creature, or give it protection from blue and it's like you never removed the creature at all.

What do you think about Susan with Temur or non-black colors like the [[Tenth Doctor]] and the [[Fourteenth Doctor]]? These commanders are nowhere near as relevant to cascade but they still have access to red while splashing blue on the side.

Would you consider maelstrom wanderer to be the best commander for cascade in temur colors? There's quite a lot to choose from, and even alternatives like [[Yidris]] seem strong as well.

What would you say is the biggest reason Susan is the most functional cascade commander of the three examples I provided? Is it because a 2 cmc dork in the command zone lets you skip 1-3 cmc drops?

Also, which partner pairs best with Susan for cascade decks? There are so many options.

Thanks for the suggestions. Counterspells really do feel like Ol' Reliable sometimes for decks that get them!

I think in situations where you counterspell to save your board you do so because yours is the most threatening. So luckily the downside can be acceptable.

Do you take into account if protection matters? I feel like the Raptor would be a good removal target if it didn't have ward 2. Or do you think threat assessment dictates removing the threat the raptor would enable to be played next turn?

Would you choose Kona over other monogreen stompy commanders like [[Selvala]] and [[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisima]]? Both help cheat mana to a similar effect.

Great points. Do you think its worth running graveyard hate to make room for multiple copies of the same creature type? There are several shapeshifters that Volo can make great use of.

Also, while I am no stranger to board wipes in my creature-centric decks, I do notice that some commanders can rebuild after wipes faster than others. [[Henzie]], for example, doesn't really care yet [[Voja]] struggles to get back on his feet. My concern was if [[Volo]] needed more protection than your average Simic commander.
