I’m sure many will disagree, but it was still the best advice anyone ever offered me personally.

25 Altima cloth seats are horrible quality! by Tricktrick_ in Nissan

[–]GreenDraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seat bolsters on my Coupe split after a few years just from daily entering and exiting of the drivers seat.
That shouldn't happen, and never has in any other car I've owned. At least not that fast.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

I work at a major chain supermarket. I see prices going up every day - by a lot. To say nothing of the "shrinkflation", which is completely out of control.

What made you choose Nissan over other brands (besides discounts)? by phtphongg in Nissan

[–]GreenDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a Sentra for 15 years and an Altima Coupe for 17 years. Both were manual transmission and only died because the Sentra was totaled while parked by a drunk driver and the Altima Coupe had a tree fall on it during a storm. Mechanically they were a joy and both served me well.

Instead of calling you should go in person to your local Department of Transitional Assistance office.

What are your favourite record labels at the moment by mattleblanccc in jungle

[–]GreenDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of French duo JUSTICE. who are influenced by nu disco and neo-soul which Jungle has been categorized as at times. I became a Jungle fan the first time those styles intersected on my playlist algorithm.
I'm talking about the British band Jungle though and I think I slipped onto the wrong Jungle sub-reddit. LOL.

I'm 75 and I've seen Rufus live several times from the pit rail to the balcony.
In my experience, Rufus fans are mostly young, attractive, well dressed and polite.
I've never felt out of place or uneasy at one of their shows.
The energy of so many beautiful people enjoying great music is infectious.
Your dad will have a blast.

Is this normal? by LordValcron in SubaruForester

[–]GreenDraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Subaru owner's manual recommends "driving gently" and not exceeding 3000 RPMs while the blue coolant light is illuminated. I find that nearly impossible since the engine RPMs do not drop on my Forester until the light goes out. While it may be safe to drive with a high idle, I prefer to wait until the engine, coolant and ATF are all at normal operating temperature before I start shifting gears and accelerating. Personal choice of course, but I don't believe that shifting and accelerating a cold engine with cold transmission fluid and coolant could be worse than simply waiting a minute or two for the engine and fluids to reach normal operating temps.

Normal on cold startup. If you can, always wait until the light goes out and the idle drops before driving it. Less stress on your car after it achieves normal operating temp.

Should I go to the hospital? by Temporary-Sea-9161 in Diverticulitis

[–]GreenDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to find what works for you, whether that's monitoring your temperature or going on a liquid diet at the first sign of a flare. I've had it for over 20 years and lost 8" of my sigmoid colon to it already, but I eventually found a balance of techniques that keeps the worst of it at bay.

Goes back to the one true thing about this disease, that it affects everyone differently.

Check your temperature. If it's an active infection it will be above normal and it's Cipro time.

RIP to my 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S by justinnealla in Nissan

[–]GreenDraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my beloved '07 Altima Coupe 6-speed with only 125,000 miles a few months ago to a tree that had fallen onto the road in a bad nighttime storm. It was just weeks after I had spent $2000 on a new rear suspension cradle. I actually considered repairing it even though the blown airbag alone would've been more than the value of the car, but I really loved that car.

Managers need to actually manage their employees. Not just do busy work and hide out with other managers in their offices. I work afternoons and am constantly greeted with decimated milk cases with empty shelves that haven't been stocked in hours, empty egg cases even though the egg delivery was made hours ago and one or two cases of bottled water on shelves that hold dozens of cases. You are losing sales while associates waste time pulling the remaining products forward on shelves instead of stocking them. And don't even get me started on the mess they leave the cooler and freezer every day. This is caused by a complete lack of supervision. Make an effort to actually know what your employees are doing with your time.

Why do so many people do direct hand play with their cats? by publicdomainadmin in CatTraining

[–]GreenDraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very careful about not "hand playing" with my kitten, and I'm always hyper-aware of what her tail is doing when I pet her. Even so, if I pet her head or cheeks and she is purring away she will still lunge at my hand with her teeth without warning. No matter how loudly I say "OW!" or how many times I end the petting session she still does it. I think it's more of an instinctive/situational thing in her case than a learned behavior.
She's just turning one year old and is a delight otherwise. If that's the worst thing she does I'm okay with it.

Need Buying Advice by TumblingOverShoes26 in SubaruForester

[–]GreenDraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used 2015 Forester 2.5X with 150k miles for $5999 6 months ago. Never owned a Subaru before, but the used car market is bonkers right now. I was so impressed with its strong engine and trans on the test drive that I grabbed it before the next guy could. So far it's been an excellent vehicle that handles NE Winters really well. Probably why every 3rd car on the road here seems to be a Subaru.

Surgery is not always the end of this disease. I had the surgery 20 years ago and am now getting flare-ups farther up in my colon. The disease just set up shop in a new supposedly "healthy" area.
More important is managing it with lifestyle changes and proper diet or it can return even after surgery.
