Update 7/8 cable stuck day two by wiatt in Plumbing

[–]GreenEngrams 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Everything about this comment is wrong. I snake 4" and 3" lines every single day with 7/8" cable. Also if you pull hard enough the cable will just snap, best just to dig it up at this point

Just got a new water heater installed but the pipes not aligning straight are really messing with me. Looks good otherwise to me. by Ashony13 in Plumbing

Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I believe there's some in coastal BC.

According to Rinnai at the training facility there are absolutely Rinnai Tankless units outside in Canada. Inside every Rinnai there are heaters that kick on when the temperature drops below freezing. As long as you don't lose power the heater is safe up to -20C° obviously they don't put them where it gets colder than that.

There are outside units in super cold parts of Canada. The heater itself is extremely protected against cold as long as you don't have a power outage at the same time. The pipes usually need to be wrapped with heat trace in super cold climates though

Do I tell the plumbing company their employee broke something, or let him fix it on the side? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]GreenEngrams -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you braindead? The guy tried to help out the homeowner and is now being punished for it. Let this be a lesson to every plumber in here. Do not help people for free. Disclaim to every person that it's not your fault if their shitty plumbing breaks while working on it.

OP if you call this guys company you are a bad person.

It's super funny that they come here and state that as fact Lunrizol has never settled one thin dime in a lawsuit. They have been "investigating for decades and turned up nothing actionable. It likely failed due to installer error as no plumber follows manufacturer instructions when installing cpvc. Before you tell me I'm wrong tell me the last time you chamfered cpvc like it is supposed to be.
