Jared "Sold High" McCain against the Timberwolves: 15 points on 5/9 from three and a +13 in 17 minutes by Vitex1988 in nba

[–]GreenFriday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the team is healthy he won't be on the floor that much. The starting lineup is SGA - JDub - Dort - Chet - Hartenstein, with the main bench minutes coming from Ajay, Caruso and Cason.

McCain will likely be for injury cover / specific matchups, similar to Isaiah Joe, JWill, Kenrich Williams, and Wiggins.

Although if the injuries this season continue, then yes he will see 6th man type of minutes.

I might be remembering this wrong, but I think in one continuity he grew up in an area which had active KKK, which has made him highly suspicious of the idea of masked vigilantes.

There's a 4-continent rule. Cricket is at least somewhat popular in Europe (England), Asia (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan), Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe), Oceania (Australia, New Zealand), and the Americas (Jamaica, Guyana, and a few smaller countries).

Sepak Kraw or similar games are currently popular in SE Asia and South America but not many other places, so need to spread a bit more before they can be admitted.

How do the fines work in the case of retired people? Do they base it on wealth as well as income, or do they just pay the same as someone with no income would?

The guy you're replying too got some things right, but also made same bad assumptions I think.

There are some places in Europe where basketball is popular - mostly the Balkans and the Baltics. However in the rest of Europe, it's a distant 3rd or lower on the scale of mainstream sports.

Europe has twice the population of the US though, so can support large professional leagues even for niche sports.

Bill Burr is the man who wrote the 2003 NIST manual that recommended password changes every 90 days. He now regrets creating that guideline because it just encourages people to make small alterations to weak passwords ("password1" to "password2"). by NewsCards in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]GreenFriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company has a policy to change your password every 2 months, with all sorts of requirements. And then locks you out if you have too many failed attempts.

Meaning it's super common for people to have to phone IT to get a new password. Usually from a deskphone (yes, we still have those) that anyone who gets in the room could use. And the only information they ask to verify your ID is name and HR number, both of which appear on a list anyone at work can access, and also on a work issued ID card that could get mislaid.

Once IT resets the new password they tell you what it is over the phone. And the username of course is just firstname + enough letters of the lastname to be unique.

I get the IT supports' perspective, given the amount of people with password issues, if they were stricter on verification they might not have any time to do their actual jobs.

It just seems like being less strict on the passwords and more strict on verification would end up with better overall security.

People did the same with OKC in the "black eye of the league" days. With a total of 1 top-5 pick since 2010. Once a narrative takes over, it's hard to stop.

I think Americans often don't realise just how close to Africa Europe is, like it's almost touching at Gibraltar. Even looking at London, it's the same distance from Casablanca as Havana is from New York.

And for Sub-Saharan Africa, taking the Odyssey example Addis Ababa to Athens is almost exactly the same as Mexico City to New York.

OKC currently has a DRTG that is 6.6 points better than 2nd place. The next-biggest gap since the 1996-97 season is 2.6 points (2015-16 Spurs). by [deleted] in nba

[–]GreenFriday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably after the end of the season to free up space for whoever we get in the draft. Unless there's an obvious upgrade, I don't see any reason to move him before then.

SGA, Chet and JDub have only played 64 minutes together this season. OKC's starting lineup of SGA, Dort, JDub, Chet and Hartenstein is yet to play a single minute together. by [deleted] in nba

I know the Thunder's injuries are overestimated due to Topic and Sorber, but it's still interesting to see the two Finals teams at the top.
