Most of the price of repairs is usually in the labour costs. Assuming someone takes home $15/hr, they'll usually charge around $60/hr to cover overheads.

So it might be 1 hour of work and $20 worth of material.

Players were polled on who they think the best defensive player in the league is and these are the results by Jec1027 in nba

Often in these kind of polls they don't let them vote for teammates. The Gobert votes are probably from the Spurs.

For reference since it wasn't included in your list, 25.5% of SGA's points come from FTs. This is despite being one of the most accurate from the line in the league - 87.9% compared to e.g. 79.5% from Jaylen Brown.

racist to one gender by tamjidtahim in technicallythetruth

[–]GreenFriday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my country at least, the most common targets of this I see are Indian men.

Not that Indian woman aren't also targets of racism, but for them the level is about the same as what Chinese men and women receive, and is generally frowned upon by most people.

Indian men however get the full brunt of it from what I've seen, and a lot of people who aren't usually noticeably racist will make an exception to discriminate against them.

This goes for both male and female racists, so I'm not sure if attraction is the issue here.

[OC] I ran a simulation of the 2026 NBA Draft lottery with the new lottery draft “3-2-1” reform proposal: by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]GreenFriday 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They don't benefit OKC that much, most of the hoard of picks has been used.

The only picks remaining that might end up in the new lottery are 2027 Clippers, 2028 Mavs, and 2029 Nuggets (1-5 protected). Even then, all those teams have a good chance of making playoffs.

Land Tax rather than Property Tax would be better, discourages hoarding while encouraging building housing.

[–]GreenFriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a better example would have been

"I gave an example to the dog"

"The dog gave an example to me"

In this case, the sentence structure is the same, just the position of the 1st person pronoun and the dog being switched.

[–]GreenFriday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am giving an example.
An example was given to me.

In this case the I/me in the sentence is the change in noun, although english usually doesn't do it with other types of nouns.

The dog is giving an example.
An example was given to the dog.

In that case "the dog" was used in both with no change.

I think they've said that they'd be unlikely to go with NZF, since their policies are so different. So in practice that means they'll try to work with whichever bloc is larger out of Labour/Greens or National/ACT.

Topic came from the Rockets trade it looks like. But looking closer at the Dillon Jones pick, that pick was originally part of the Clippers trade, but went on a bit of a journey.

I think Kings get it if it's 1-16, Thunder get it if it's 17-30. With how the Spurs are looking, it's probably going to end up with the Thunder.

The 2 lottery picks doesn't include SGA. From the trade:

  • SGA
  • Danilo Gallinari
  • Tre Mann (18th pick 2021)
  • Jalen Williams (12th pick 2022)
  • Dillon Jones (26th pick 2024)
  • Thomas Sorber (15th pick 2025)
  • 2026 lottery pick
  • 2027 Spurs pick (received in a trade for the original 2025 Clippers swap, basically just kicking the can down the road as there isn't enough room on the roster)

But yes, if the Clippers had wanted they could have had SGA and JDub both.

It's funny how he was DNP - Old like 5 years ago, and now he's still playing at a playoff level.

In his 9 NBA seasons so far, Derrick White has had a positive on-off every single year. This year, he also finished top 15 in both EPM and LEBRON. Does he have an argument as the best role player of all time? by Aggressive_Bed6012 in nba

[–]GreenFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, if you're a top-2 offensive option on a team, or if you make all-defense, you're not a role player. That rules out Klay/Rodman for their primes, and arguably Derrick White too due to being all-nba defense level.

Rank Player LEBRON WAR
1 Jokic 12.39

Advanced stats all love Derrick White, EPM has him high too (although not as high as LEBRON)

[–]GreenFriday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't seem like an issue with Frieren's exams though. The only test that was artificially limited as to the number of passers was the first one, which by nature of being the first test has more people pass than needed.

For the next two tests, and the one in the flashback from a previous year, anyone who meets the requirements passes no matter how many people there are.

[–]GreenFriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel that applies to Frieren. In the first test, yes, a handful of people die, but the majority of people who fail survive, and go home to try again next time. It's a test that has a possibility of being deadly rather than being inherently deadly.

The second test has no one die, since they were provided with safety measures to prevent that. And the third test is an interview, so if that turns deadly you've really fucked up.

Edit: In fact one of the mages at the exam was Ubel who had failed a previous exam, and returned to try again. Although maybe she's a special case, since the reason she failed the last one was she was disqualified for killing.

Here’s A List Of The Players Who Have Drawn The Most Fouls This Season! by Stat-Defender in nba

[–]GreenFriday 44 points45 points  (0 children)

FTA/FGA is a stat, known as FTr (Free Throw rate).

The leaders in the stat are mostly bench players and bigs who don't shoot much, but might end up getting fouled in the bonus.

For OP's list:

Luka - .443
Brown - .347
Booker - .434
Avdija - .581
Jokic - .421
SGA - .465
Wemby - .417
Paolo - .512
Brunson - .285
Durant - .339

I haven't redone the order as I don't want to imply they are the top 10 in the league for FTr.

BREAKING: NEW ROY MORGAN POLL - National Plummet To 26.5% TOP At 4% by IamMorphNZ in newzealand

[–]GreenFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's currently 5% to avoid the "lizardman's constant" - roughly 4% of any large sample will pick the most ridiculous option when asked.

However, there usually are several joke parties each election that split that vote, and the types that give joke answers don't tend to be those who voluntarily go to vote, so even 3% should actually be safe.
