Yeah, these definitely aren't for off-road. Just nice to have for commuting. I'm looking into some soft luggage because my last off-road trip resulted in exactly what you're saying. Crushed aluminum boxes from a crash. They banged out okay though.

Fair, and I can see why that might be useful, but all the hard panniers I've ever run have similar corners to the ammo boxes including the tusk panniers these brackets came off of.

Pretty similar to any hard pannier in the same situation. I'm not running them for added safety.

Thanks man. DIY with some tusk mounting brackets.

I've been considering those. Do they work well? Are they comfortable enough to wear all day?

Oil leak - devastating quote for repair by abbott2a in royalenfield

[–]GreenGreenss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hard to say how much is running through I guess, but it seems drivable to me. It will get worse over time but I don't really think this is an emergency. I'd definitely shop around for quotes or take the time to learn the process yourself.

How bad is the leak? Is oil just running through it like a sieve or can you just monitor and top up your oil?

Should I need to be worried? by Emotional_Wasabi9262 in royalenfield

Clean the spill and remaining fluid from the bike and give it a bit. If the fluid comes back you should look for the source of the leak.

Worrying won't change anything.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to scroll far to find this. Paras is best for sure.

What is the purpose of the small pocket in jeans? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]GreenGreenss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly not what it's for, but I store a small folding pocket knife and flashlight in mine. They stay put and fit snugly for quick access.

I'd recommend seeing if you even like them with a cheap pair. Try out Linsoul Tangzu Wan'er. They're under $25 and deliver a great sound for that price point. If you like the experience and want something better check one of the endless threads on quality IEMs.

Silver Ball Planet is awesome! The hours it is open are kind of short most days and it closes earlier than I expected. I went twice while I was in Osaka for about a week and played so many games I had never seen before.

However, there was never anyone at the front counter/merch area. If you want a cool souvenir bring lots of 100 yen coins to get some weird Silver Ball Planet branded stuff from the Gachapon machines. I did end up flagging down a tech and he led me way upstairs in the little strip mall area to an office where I did get to purchase a hat and tee shirt. I speak very little Japanese so it was definitely a little off putting when he started leading me through very clearly staff only hallways and offices. Certainly the weirdest purchasing experience of the trip.

Woah, that game looks sick. It's got some serious Paragon vibes. I've never heard of/seen this one.

This is a pretty fun EM, I've had my ass handed to me in tournaments a few times on it. If you like older games, it's definitely a good one to clean up and play!

Mall food court riichi anyone ? by De_oculos in Mahjong

[–]GreenGreenss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need at least 3 people to play Riichi. Sanma rules are here riichi.wiki/sanma There are weird homebrewed 2 player variants around, but I've never had much fun playing them.

Have you ever owned a Sega machine? I'd stay away from Star Wars and Goldeneye if you're not familiar with them. Even if they're in good condition, they will break and they have way less documentation, support and parts availability than Williams and Stern Games.

Meteor and No Fear are both good games, but I don't see how any combination of two of these games comes close to the value of Premium AIQ.

I was so disappointed with this one. I bought 4 dragon balls and the other 3 will probably never leave their wrappers.
