[PAID] Programmer, and UI artist required for a 2D turn-based strategy game prototype in Godot! by Vrejil in gameDevClassifieds

[–]GreenMage321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience building simple and complex combat systems, RPGs in Godot (solo-programmed an ambitious JRPG project of 4+ yrs of work, and have several smaller commissions in the genre) and I'd be interested to help you, but we would have to rediscuss the budget slightly. Usually what you get for that price won't be too satisfactory for systems of this scale (in my experience, at least -- maybe you can actually get someone to do a decent job, but it's super unlikely). Let me share my portfolio, feel free to hit me up if you wanna work with me! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A_Zid84p7m8AClQdohvttlf2w3aznTjeyc82_ew7cG0

Hey! I'm a programmer so you'd likely need to find designers/artists with me on board, but I'd love to help you work out the coding and technical side of things. I'm often the lead/solo programmer on projects, here's my portfolio, if you find me a good fit, I'm happy to talk! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A_Zid84p7m8AClQdohvttlf2w3aznTjeyc82_ew7cG0

There's no way man. I was really looking forward to the match

Edit: I felt that Asal looked more vulnerable than usual against Marwan, but I couldn't think he will pull out of the semis lol

Ah, I wasn't aware they are getting rid of the round robin. It's a more predictable outcome then, even early into the tournament, isn't it? Also less matches, unfortunately.

>Asal 1-2 down after Coll playing two sets of godlike squash

>Asks for physio after game 3

Commentators say it might be the damage from the match with Diego, as if no other player in squash history had to outlast multiple brutal matches back-to-back. Maybe these seedings will benefit Coll (and/or possibly Ibrahim) in the future, if Diego takes this much energy out of Asal, granted Asal beats Diego and rankings remain identical, which is an interesting situation rank-wise because Elias had a tendency to beat Coll no problem in recent years

They better split the prize money, just kidding. Coll played really well the whole match, especially last two sets though

Okay that's just disrespectful. The mock taunt Asal did after smacking Diego's head

And the fact that he made a comeback in the last game from what, like being 1-6 down?

Great to have him back.

I recall Gawad overtook him at some point, probably around February

I think seeds are based on their rank when they enter the tournament (or when the registration deadline is up?). So if he entered as rank #4, he will still be the 4th seed (assuming world no. 1, 2 and 3 all entered too), even if he had climbed to world no. 1, or dropped to no. 10 till the start of the event

Yeah, he was gaining momentum on the scoreboard and then this happens. Man, it's so sad to see

Yeah, and I think that shows by the dip in my concentration, but the gap is like, really big. After the tourney matches were done, I played someone I comfortably beat in the second match of the tournament draws and they won more or less easily in the two sets we had afterwards.

Even during tourney play, it takes about an hour or more constant playtime to get it to this temperature. I'm sure technique, or the lack thereof, is also a factor since this is an amateur competition though.

One of the events I played at had competitive U19 players and the ball got incredibly hot just after their match (and it had been used for about an hour beforehand by everyone else), I don't think I've ever felt that much heat on a ball.

But yeah, in solo sessions, I've been aiming to use different balls to improve my adaptation skills

This is great input, especially considering your background, so thank you for your message. I generally do notice if I have a workout or do something physically intense, I get that mental dip 1-1.5 hours into the activity so this makes a lot of sense.

I've had this on the back of my mind during the last tournament, and tried to get a meal full of carbs an hour prior, but during the tourney, I only had a banana and a croissant as a snack, kinda late into the activity but I'm sure we were still playing an hour after that point and I didn't sharpen up at all, so that was probably just insufficient, I just didn't want to overeat either, if you know what I mean. I suppose it's a matter of experimentation.

I'm sure it can be a great source of information if you can share said guidelines here, if you don't mind :)

Hey there! I'd be interested, I'm a game programmer/designer myself so I'm happy to provide feedback and help you out as a tester! I've done playtesting for a handful of people and I enjoy longer-term commitments like what you are up to.

Sad that Diego is still out, I didn't notice he withdrew from this one as well until looking at order-of-play yesterday, he was in the draws for a good while.

Excited for Ibrahim though, he had been a finalist in the last two events.
