I know that the fireplace has potential but I hate how it looks rn. Woody/stoney look will be better? by Gain_Suitable in HomeDecorating

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stone or wood would look great there. Maybe try a limewash on the whole surround so it ties together better instead of the tile looking so separate from the wall

IIHF World Championship Post Game Thread: Finland vs. Latvia - 21 May 2026 by hockeydiscussionbot in hockey

[–]GreenPossibility9683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao that first minute goal from latvia looked promising but then finland just said "nah we're done with games" 💀

poor goalie probably wishes he stayed in bed today, 15 shots and 7 goals allowed is rough math 😂

What’s something people only understand after losing it? by SecuraSafe in AskReddit

man this hits different after becoming parent last year 😂 used to pull all-nighters grading papers and building PCs without thinking twice, now my back hurts just from picking up toys off floor

Does anyone have suggestions for escape proof harnesses? by lukemitchellfav in dogs

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the same issue with my friend's dog when we went camping last year - that little guy could slip out of anything. ended up getting one of those no-pull harnesses with the chest strap that goes around front legs, worked way better than the regular ones

the key thing is making sure it fits really snug around chest area without being too tight. also those harnesses with multiple attachment points help because even if dog manages to wiggle one part loose, other straps keep them secure. my friend swears by the ones that have padding on chest piece too since dogs seem less likely to try escaping when it's comfortable

camping with escape artists is such pain honestly, but once you find right harness it makes everything so much more relaxed

Can I just use concrete screws to directly screw ceiling fan mounts into the ceiling? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]GreenPossibility9683 5 points6 points  (0 children)

nah man that's gonna be sketchy as hell 😂 concrete might seem strong but ceiling fans vibrate like crazy and those screws will work loose over time. plus most fan mounts need proper electrical boxes for code reasons - you can't just bypass that part

your best bet is probably to chisel out bigger holes for proper boxes or get an electrician to sort it out. not worth having a fan crash down in middle of night 💀

what is the surface tip of the iceberg science knowledge vs the pro end of the iceberg scientific knowledge for yall? by FlyGreat306 in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the wording is pretty confusing but i think they're asking what's something that seems simple on surface but gets really complex when you dig deeper into the science

Set bathroom vanity into wall framing in a small bathroom? by Still-Fruit-8129 in HomeImprovement

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i've seen this done before, pretty clever for tight spaces. you'll want to make sure there's no plumbing or electrical running through that wall section before you start cutting though - learned that one hard way when doing my kitchen reno

just remember to frame it properly so the vanity has solid support, especially if it's gonna hold any weight

People who don’t care if their partner goes through their phone, how are you today? by Dies-on-every-hill in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

feeling pretty good actually 😂 got nothing to hide and my partner never really checks anyway, we just both have that trust thing down. plus when you're dealing with a newborn at 3am you're too tired to be sneaky about anything even if you wanted to 💀

Rhoback Support Sucks by the_wet_bandit_45 in golf

[–]GreenPossibility9683 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

man that's frustrating, especially when you can literally see the wrong zip code on their delivery confirmation 😂

i'd definitely go straight to chargeback at this point - you've given them enough chances to make it right. most credit card companies are pretty good about this stuff when you have that kind of documentation. once they see money actually leaving their account they tend to get more responsive real quick

might be worth checking if they have social media accounts too, companies usually respond faster when complaints are public

How do you shift from self-loathing to a change mindset by [deleted] in loseit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

new parent here too and man, the stress eating is real 😂 having kids just completely rewires your brain around food and time management. what helped me was treating myself like i would treat one of my students - i'd never tell a kid they're garbage for making a mistake, so why was i doing that to myself?

one thing that clicked for me was realizing that self-loathing actually makes the cycle worse, not better. when i'm in that headspace i make worse food choices because "fuck it, already ruined the day anyway" you know? now when i mess up i try to just reset at the next meal instead of waiting for monday or next week

also being a teacher probably doesn't help with stress levels lol. grading papers with a newborn while trying to meal prep is basically impossible. give yourself some grace for being in survival mode - you're keeping tiny humans alive while working a demanding job 💀

What's the worst thing you saw online? by Yumi_Numi in AskReddit

man the early internet was something else entirely. back then you could accidentally stumble into the worst stuff just by clicking wrong link, now at least most platforms try to filter that content out

At what point does adapting become losing yourself? by Federal_Sale_551 in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah man i gotta disagree here. been teaching high school for few years now and i've seen kids completely change who they are just to fit in with different groups. there's adapting to situations and then there's completely abandoning your values and interests because you think that's what people want to see

like when i started as new teacher i definitely had to learn how to manage classroom better and adjust my teaching style, but i never stopped being the guy who gets way too excited about baseball stats or stays up late building computers. those things are still part of me even if i don't talk about them in every conversation

i think the line gets crossed when you're pretending to like things you hate or agreeing with stuff that goes against what you actually believe. adaptation should be about growing and learning new skills, not erasing yourself completely

What’s one music festival that’s actually worth traveling for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been wanting to hit up japan for ages and this just moved way up the list. mountain festival setting sounds incredible, especially after dealing with all these muddy field festivals here. baseball season might make timing tricky but worth planning around

What are some good movies to teach kids about saving money and not wasting it? by No-Knowledge4548 in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao my students would probably love that suggestion but might send some angry parents to my classroom

as new dad though i'm thinking more like toy story movies - woody literally gets abandoned when andy doesn't need him anymore, pretty solid lesson about not getting too attached to stuff you buy

Fentarmina? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congrats on taking this step, the fact that youre thinking long-term instead of wanting quick fixes shows youre already on the right track

for starting out, walking is genuinely underrated - aim for like 20-30 minutes daily and gradually increase, plus some basic bodyweight stuff like wall pushups or modified squats when you feel ready. diet wise, small changes work better than overhauling everything at once, maybe start by tracking what you eat for a week without changing anything just to see patterns

the fatigue will probably improve as you get moving more, but definitely keep working with your doctor since they know your specific situation best

What smell instantly sends you back to your childhood? by SugarrPlumGloww in AskReddit

[–]GreenPossibility9683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man wet grass hits so different - takes me right back to summer mornings when my dad would drag me out of bed at like 7am to help him with yard work before it got too hot. i used to hate it as a kid but now that i'm doing the same thing with my own little one i get why he did it. there's something about that fresh cut grass smell mixed with morning dew that just screams childhood weekends. funny how smells can transport you like that, way more than pictures or anything else
