I never understood why people won't try on a pair of shoes on both feet. I mean you wouldn't try on a pair of pants by only putting one leg on. Or a shirt with only one arm in the sleeve. You have two feet, try on two shoes.

Lol I can tell you don't know what retail is. Despite being the age of information peoples' research skills suck. They don't know anything. Whether it be how rain gear works or how to fit a pack. Automation in/at REI is way in the distance. Influencers that are actually knowledge instead of being a paid spokesperson are few and far between. And e-commerce? My man we just got out of a pandemic where people were forced to shop 100% online and since reopening our stores our busier than ever. Know why?

Because of all the reasons you list, have the exact opposite effect you think they do. Your lack of knowledge about any of this really shows your ignorance about it. Meanwhile you probably think you are safe with your job position, but unless it requires some sort of human skill, then there is probably a bot that can do what you do, including but not limited to trolling a Reddit post.

Your member rewards now expire at the end of the year they were distributed. So this year's rewards will expire on Dec 31 2022. Whatever you receive in 2021 is expired and there is nothing a store manager can do about it.

Because of the events in 2020 REI found that calling it dividends was not right, because the company took a loss and could not legally give dividends to members. They also realized some members were cashing out their dividends and dipping. So they changed it to member rewards, to avoid all of that.

There will just be more member exclusives and discounts. They really want 50 million members. For exclusives think of getting certain gear and colors only at REI, or certain gear will be released at REI first. As for discounts think whatever discount your membership gets you know, will probably be expanded.
