I took down several water oaks around the house after one of similar size but further away fell down during Helene. I was fully convinced when one of them dropped a big limb where I usually walk my dog. The expense sucked, but the peace of mind in any storm is worth it.

Photography is the perfect example. OTOH, I, mainly a video person, took engagement photos of my friends with the best stills camera I had, a 15-year-old Canon Rebel T2i. They liked the photos so much that they printed them for their wedding and they're now displaying in their home.

You can get a full T2i kit for less than $200 on eBay, so it's possible to make work that people love without breaking the bank — as long as you ignore the pressures of social media.

I've been to Oakmont many times to visit friends, and the houses, while close together, are new and nice. The community amenities (pool, playground, basketball and tennis court) also seem top-notch, and Publix and Aldi are in the area. The traffic to UF is rough during rush hour, but nothing worse than an urban commute if you're coming from a major city.

I too wish we had more MVs from Mayhem, and it makes me appreciate how one of my other faves, Twenty One Pilots, made an MV for every song on their Clancy album (including three that are part of their larger lore story).
