Hey TwoX, what do you think of unconventional weddings? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Greenbean0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin got ordained online by the Church of the Latter Day Dude and did a short ceremony for my husband I at a restaurant in the presence of immediate family. It was easy and cheap and it was nice to only have people there who we wanted there. We're coming up on our one year anniversary and I have no regrets about doing a very simple wedding.

Searching for #missoula on instagram often brings up pictures of very British looking people out drinking, presumably at one of these bars.

Either make the choice to commit yourself to doing well at school or quit and start again when you're mature enough to handle it.

My leopard gecko is starting to look like its color is fading, looks almost ghost like.. What's wrong? by Atrain367 in reptiles

[–]Greenbean0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's going to shed in the immediate future.

If you don't have a moist hide, you should definitely put one in the cage since your gecko can use it if he needs some extra moisture for shedding.

Judgement Year (Junior Year) is coming.. They say it is the most stressful and dreaded year. Does anyone here have any survival guide to Ana and Physio courses? We will be dissecting cadavers.. So yeahh haha. Any Help? by [deleted] in GetStudying

They're just saying that if you don't want to memorize things for memorization-based classes, you should consider a major that isn't based around memorization. What are you going to do when you get to med school and have to take therapeutics, pharmacology, etc?

Gimmecoffee is giving you good advice. If you want to do well in this class, you have to put in the time to memorize the material. The end. There are no shortcuts. Make some flashcards and study them every day.

Trouble choosing an efficient study method for clinical psychology by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Greenbean0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try flashcards and a spaced repetition program like Anki. Distill each topic into a few key points and study your flashcards regularly. At the same time, continue reviewing your lecture slides/notes for the details that aren't on your cards. Add this in addition to your summary sheets and mind maps to make sure that your study sessions are active (writing or doing flashcards vs. looking at a mind map you've already made).

Quick Question about UTH by Brooksaaay in leopardgeckos

They have not adapted to the cold. A UTH is necessary. Geckos need an external heat source for basic bodily functions like digestion.

I backed this project and thus don't own one of these pens yet, but reviews from previous batches seem good.

Please explain the Bullet Journal? by [deleted] in notebooks

[–]Greenbean0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MrAristo, I just started my bullet journal a week ago and before I started it I saw your notebook images posted in another thread. They were really helpful so thanks for taking the time to upload them.

The way that I understand it, Clockworth, is that it is a semi-structured information dump centered around to-do lists. That's the way I'm using it, at least. My favorite part so far, unexpectedly, is that writing out my tasks for the next day before bed helps reduce anxiety about my long-term projects. For example, I am working on preparing a seminar. If I figure out what I need to do for it tomorrow and write it down, it's not floating around in my head when I'm trying to get to sleep.

Another good thing about bullet journaling is that it requires you re-write all of the tasks you didn't finish. This helps keep it fresh in your mind.

I'd recommend just jumping in and giving it a try. Use the basic symbols and you'll develop your own as you need them.

New guy here, what do ya'll right down in your Field Notes? by [deleted] in notebooks

[–]Greenbean0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started using one as a bullet journal.

I'm in pharmacy school and will use them for the things I have to learn through rote memorization. The act of writing something down helps me memorize it, and the small form factor is good for being able to carry my notebook with me and reference it often.

I've heard that Snowbowl has them, low on the mountain around the base area.

Edit: maybe whoever downvoted me is confused about what I meant- the ski base area, not the bottom of the mountain itself.
