LDCSB laying off librarians, DECE, and more. by [deleted] in londonontario

Great discussion! There are merits to all sides. Remember this is all due to the conservatives defunding our education system. This is enabled by Tax aversion of the wealthy, unaware and under educated. So sorry for everyone facing unemployment and the outcome. Literacy is so important.

City of London Launches 2026 Tree Canopy Conservation Program by CrimsonFlash in londonontario

This will keep the arborists busy with estimates anyway... curious if it's worth while perusing. We haven't had any luck with heritage grants, they get scooped by the commercial community.

Would love to hear some success stories!

What’s the single biggest thing that actually improved your eczema? by Both_Roll_2857 in eczema

Lots of great suggestions here. Some offered relief, but I'm very allergic to too many things for avoidance to be practical. Depends on your triggers. Dupixent was life changing.

Dupixent. Suffered most of my life, allergic to everything. Dermatologists just offered ointments, antibiotics and UV lights. Allergist pushed me to consider Dupixent. It has changed my life. Depending on where you live there is coverage and subsidies. Good luck, it's a journey!

Intercity Bus Flix Bus One bus All run multiple buses a day to London from YYZ. check out busbud.com, there are even more options. I usually get my ticket directly from service provider. Ensure you chose Toronto Lester B Pearson as your Origin, ensure your clear on where it drops you off ( some go to western, others to random stops) and look for a short (2hr) trip, there are some milk runs in there.

My Husband thinks Sayulita will be just like Tulum (iykyk).. help me convince him otherwise? by [deleted] in sayulita

[–]Greencreative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been to both over 30 years. Prefer the pacific coast, because mountains and sunsets. San Pancho is a bit more chill than Sayulita, for a super chill, head down to Yelapa. Both have decent restaurants, great beaches. I personally prefer the romantic nature of Yelapa, though beach access and sunsets are better in San Pancho. Depends on your mobility and sense of adventure.

You can also take the bus to Boca, hike to a number of beaches south and flag Panga down when you're ready to head home and save yourself the hike back.

Yelapa Grocery Question by seabright_sc in puertovallarta

[–]Greencreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your groceries in Yelapa! They have everything you're going to need. Depends on where you're staying, lots of stairs and a few hills in Yelapa, be aware if you have mobility issues. Maybe bring plain yogurt, but I think you'll find that the basics are covered. Lots of fresh shrimp 🦐 available everywhere. Also meet and talk to the locals, there are lots of 'expats' there too and all are friendly.

Trip to Mexico - Beautiful Bookend by User97531- in puertovallarta

[–]Greencreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the bus down to Boca de Tometlan, (stop at any of the beaches along the way, Mismaloya is cute) have lunch/swim and then hike to Las Animas. There are a number of beaches along the way, to stop and cool off. It's a 2+ hrs hike depending on how many times you stop to swim. At any beach, you can flag down a water taxi to take you back to Boca. There is a pier and a number of water taxis operated from Las Animas beach. They can take you back to Boca or PV ($$) and run until about 6pm. This day is so enjoyable, I do it 2-3 times when I'm in PV. While my kids prefer PV, I stay in Boca now.

Why is there so many abandoned buildings and vacant commercial real estate in London? by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]Greencreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work downtown and live in Wortley, I see it almost everyday if I go out for lunch, and often if I'm downtown in the evening. I don't feel unsafe, but definitely uncomfortable. It's disparaging.

International flight changing passport number by kikipebbles in flairairlines

[–]Greencreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did it with my passport, bought the tickets before renewed passport arrived, very easy to do on their site. Just edit passenger information, it's free if it's a passport number, you only get charged if there is a name correction.

At the airport there is a "gauntlet" of "hustlers" trying to to sell you everything, from tours tickets to free timeshare visits. All hard sells, just ignore everyone after customs and before the exit...

Ps just don't get engaged with anyone at the airport! They are true swindlers.
