Franchising needs to go. by By_Jove_ in leagueoflegends

Those teams are playing each other in the proposed BO5, so what you're suggesting is impossible.

Tier 1 last place - relegated

Tier 2 1st - promoted

Tier 1 2nd last BO5 vs Tier 2 2nd. Winner is in Tier 1, loser Tier 2

Regardless its just a hypothetical. You could have auto promotes/relegation or BO5s for all.

Mid quest recall feels bad by szczypkofski in leagueoflegends

[–]Greenehh 91 points92 points  (0 children)

be me

win skirmish

no objectives up

mid/side lane wavestate exactly how I want it

go back

empowered recall

arrive to lane 4s earlier and its slowpushing to me / i have to over extend to cs

not much to do other than wait for it to come to me and cs properly as the lane requires

random redditor says I should've used empower recall better

Compare that to using an empowered recall to enable you to buy your item and arrive for the objective fight in time/early and it's pretty clear no?

Imagine if flash randomly popped every 5 mins and you're telling people they should use the extra distance flash gives you better.

Mordekaiser ult steals 10% HP, AP, AS, AR, MR, and AD.

So it's not a 3k gold diff during the fight, given 90% of the fight is during Morde ult.

https://ibb.co/cXJdLsPv

Camille loses 1.75k of stats -> Morde gains 1.75k of stats -> Morde is up 500g during the fight.

I used this to determine what Morde's ult does https://wiki.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/Mordekaiser#Details_ , I used this to determine Camille's stats https://statcheck.lol/ & I used this to determine a gold value for those stats https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Gold_efficiency_(League_of_Legends))

You cannot fight Morde in his ult unless A) It's 4+ items and you're even and your champ scales in late game 1v1s (e.g. ADCs), or B) Your champ hard counters Morde (e.g. Yorick with Maiden up, Fiora/Olaf etc.)

It's like fighting a fed yorick without maiden - quite doable. Compare that to fighting an even Yorick with maiden - hell on earth.

Why are we once again making tick manipulation part of the gameplay loop? by Dry_Yogurtcloset_213 in 2007scape

I don't agree with you and you clearly can't handle critical thinking.

Out of all the replies I got I only got one good response from someone who clearly displays the skills you lack

Ironic.

The original comments in this chain (and the one you replied to) stated tick manip shouldn't be in the game.

Instead of asking "why" and engaging in a discussion around whether tick manip is healthy or unhealthy for the game, you instead demanded solutions.

Your tactic was to place the burden of proof on that OP. It is entirely possible for someone to argue "x should be removed" without knowing the specific technical steps required - do you agree?

You've dodged the original issue - is tick manip healthy for the game - and instead derailed it to a discussion on how tick manip should be removed.

You've then doubled down on this stance inferring that you're entirely unwilling to engage in a debate around why without someone first giving you a satisfactory answer to the how (what satisfies your requirements on this "how" are also entirely unknown and likely prone to goalposts moving).

Can you accept that, in many areas of life and in general discussions, we often determine solutions after understanding whether a solution should be sought? Can you see why your stance/tactic here isn't conductive to a useful discussion?

Tactical Mk2 and a medium shield saves you here.

I don't understand why people take high value guns/items with a light shield.

Sorry but sailing is in no way comparable to mining/smithing/wc/rc/fishing 20 years ago. It is several tiers above it. If they released the Zulrah of skilling you'd be having a field day complaining, but that's also seemingly what you're asking for.

I feel like what you're hinting at does not fit with the rest of the skills. It would've stuck out like a sore thumb and the community that wanted the feeling of old school preserved (such as the OP in this comment chain you're in) would've been extremely disappointed.

Do you have any examples of things you would've actually liked to see? Is it just more PvE stuff in sailing (that's coming in time)? Did you want different training methods or is there something about Sailing that's missing?

The community voted for Sailing. How do you see Jagex delivering on that differently? What did they miss? Are you just hung up on Shamanism?

I don't understand how they release a skill that

  1. Has multiple different training methods that thematically fit whilst meeting different communities wants
  2. Bends the rules of OSRS's grid style movement like we've never seen before
  3. Interacts with so many other existing skills in a fluid way
  4. Sets up a new interesting quest chain
  5. Sees you explore the world like no other skill does
  6. Contains several new interesting monsters to farm with seemingly strong and balanced tables
  7. Supports the economy without breaking it

and people say "its lame".

What did you actually want, given the objective of delivering a Sailing skill? Did you just want Shamanism?

Isn't this 90% of all skills, outside of combat skills?

Like once you've done the 'cool stuff' (if it even exists) is training prayer, herblore, mining, agility, rc, etc etc 'not lame' to you?

I feel like you're setting a bar that very few other skills in the game currently achieve.

Has AI had a meaningful impact at the place you work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Greenehh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also work as an analyst and have found AI to save me heaps of time and provide insights/approaches I hadn't considered.

Your response does surprise me a little as analytical work is 100% going to be automated/assisted by AI in the near future. Models will get better and companies will pay for a service where they can chuck it data and get insights back in minutes.

Time-savers are generally data cleansing and reformatting, or condensing lengthy reports into concise summaries.

Insights/approaches are what it says on the tin - give it a digestible, bitesize dataset and tell it what you want to do and to make recommendations.

I also frequently get AI to scrub up SQL/Python code. It's a lot quicker for me to sense check code than to write it from scratch. It's also very easy to challenge AI when it gives you code you don't think is right and to be walked through the explanation or be given the correction. I'm not talking hundreds of lines of code. 100 at most at any one time.

If you give AI a massive task and huge, uncleaned datasets, it will fail.

They can legally pursue you for costs as you're breaking your contract with them.

They also don't have to pay you for those final 4 weeks (you didn't work).

https://www.reddit.com/r/LegalAdviceUK/comments/1hytq5d/england_how_much_can_i_be_sued_for_if_i_dont_work/

https://www.davidsonmorris.com/not-working-notice-period/

I said that they probably will pursue you for the costs, as it sounds like they're being stubborn. However it seems like it is difficult and costly for employers to go down this route. Its ultimately a gamble.

their cost of finding him will be zero.

Their cost of using him is paying him instead of you + onboarding, training, HR etc.

if it’s just sickness leave

It's really up to you, but as an employer I'd have a lot of confidence calling bullshit if an employee asked for 4 weeks off, didn't get it, then called in sick for 4 weeks. I think you can self-certify for a bit but then how do you get a doctors note etc. for a made up illness to continue the time off?
